Good morning Gillian,

Just thought I would pop in and say hello. Shy trust us on the forum, that is why she ask us to moderate our own thread. She knows that the three of us are good people and she trusts us. That makes me feel good.

I just feel very safe venting to you and Kimberly, sometimes i don't know what to say to the others, but i always read all the threads just incase i can be of help to someone.

The boys are good and Sean is doing great with his wee pants on and going to the toilet, he is so funny, do you know he loves diet coke, i know i shouldnt let him have it but he loves it, i blame myself because i love it to, i remember when i was in hospital getting my ileostomy they wouldnt let me have it so my mum brought in diet coke ice cubes! They were divine!! lol.

Hi Gillian,

That is so cool that your mom brought the diet coke ice cubes.  I can imagine how good they tasted at the time.  Plus nice and cold.  Good thinking.

I have read a lot of your posts to others and I think that you give very good advise and that you are very helpful and kind.  You are good to others.  I know you are such a wonderful person.

I am glad that Sean likes his wee pants and is doing well with potty training.  My granddaughter is about the same age and is learning too.  She will be three next month.  They are so cute at that age, I think she likes diet coke too.  That is what her mom drinks all day long.  But they try to keep her on juice, but I think she gets a little.  I remember sneaking her a little when she was teething, I think the taste took her mind off of the pain.

  Helloooo you three (My usual two forum pals and Shy too if you are popping by)

  Well, I am feeling like I am in a rut.  It all started with physical pain/fatigue coming on last Sat. and just feeling like nothing is going right and not having the energy to cope with much this week.  Now I just feel down again.  Overwhelmed and tired and wrestling with feeling stuck. 

  Part of what's contributing is that we are living in the part of the city where there's basically next to nothing to do or go to, and I am tired of being home all the time.  I find myself complaining and I don't want to because it doesn't help anything, but still the words come out of my mouth and then I feel lousier about myself.  I just feel like I need a pick me up.  My husband has been working quite non-stop since getting back and I just didn't have energy to go to town today by myself.  SO he came with me - taking time away from his work.  Things went all wonky.  Just a lot of stress.  I am just soooooo tired and tired of being tired...  Sometimes when I have a good streak I think it makes it harder because I get used to feeling good - healthwise I mean - and then when I have a downswing I have to readjust again.  I guess that is it - I just need to give myself time to readjust.   This too shall pass. 

  I could use some hugs...  It's that whole thing of wanting to be the happy wife, knowing I have so much to be thankful for - why can't I just get it together thinking.  I guess that is just 'stinking thinking.'  yeah I have so much hope inside, and it's frustrating when my feelings don't 'feel' it .  I'm too hard on myself.

  I can give myself a day or two of needing to cuddle up in a big cushy blanket - but it's been a week now and I'm getting impatient with me.  That's crappy eh?  I mean, I know better.  Oh well.  We just got cable tv cuz I todl hubby I just want to rest and watch cable tv for a month.  lol!!  I seriously just need a break from coping with stuff.  I can't force stuff - so I'm just gonna try to detach for awhile and get my strength back.  Sorry I've not been on the forum much. I've popped by but when i go to write sometimes I just feel a wave of fatigue...I feel like I am moping right now.  But I guess this would be the place to mope if one needs too, eh!  Hope I didn't bring either of you down.  You are both great and I hope you have a happy evening.  I probably sound a little discombobulated, but that's me right now!  Oh well.

Dicomember what? LOL.  I honestly have never heard of that word before, but I am going to look it up..............Got ya.  I honestly looked the word up and I learned something today.  Hey, I am that way most of the time.  Though I can't even spell it. 

I am sorry that you are feeling in a rut.  I am getting that way because of the weather.  It has been too cold to do anything outside.  The nights have been super cold too.  I just want spring to come.  I know you must be frustrated if there is no where for you to walk.  I know you like to get outside.  But Maybe you just need to kick back for a while.  You have been through a lot of discontentment (that's a big word,LOL), maybe you just need time to adjust to your new surroundings.  It also sounds like you are in a fibro flare.  That makes everything so much harder.  Give yourself a pat on the back for all of the stuff that you have accomplished with the move.  And take a breather for now.  For a while.  And don't feel guilty about it.  That can be so self defeating to your soul.  Honestly I have been having some of the same feelings, maybe a lot milder case, and I think the time of year has a lot to do with it and the weather.  You'll be feeling better soon, I am sure.

I will end here.  I imagine that Gillian ....I am trying to figure out what time it would be there.  I thought I knew but I don't.  Let's see, Mid day here, she is getting ready for bed so,.....If you flip that around.........I think she should be, umm, probably still sleeping.  But soon to get up, I think.  Either way Gillian, I wish for you a wonderful day.

  lol Karen!  Glad that you learned a new word!  I just watched cable tv for 2 hours.  It was quite fun!  And I liked just resting my brain and thinking over stuff while being distracted at the same time.  Yeah, this moving thing was huge, and you're right - I should give myself the luxury of just resting.  I have always been too hard on myself and push too much.  And weather does come into play, you're right.  It was actually sunny here a fair bit but for the past week has been grey and really nippy at times.  I guess I just need to wait for my body to start feeling better.  I just kind of pooped out last night and have been eating tons of the hubby's cookies - and that of course just makes me feel worse.  Oh well.  I guess this is what you would call a flare - I just keep thinking I should be able to do something to feel better.  Like I said, I really find it hard when I can feel so decent for awhile and then bam!  Well, brighter days ahead.  And I'll just be happy I can stay home and watch tv and gradually I know I will start feeling better physically and mentally too.  Rest does wonders.

  Yes, Gill is probably sleeping right about now, speaking of rest.  "Hello" to you Gill whenever you pop back around.  Hope you rested well, and yoru week has been good.

  I'm sleepy again and my thoughts are tired, so will sign off.

Hi Friends!

I'm sorry your feeling rotten Kimberly, that stinks! It's definately got something to do with Jan, it can be so dark outside and makes you feel even worse. If the sun was shining and it was warmer doing nothing but sitting reading is pleasent but not when the rain is battering down and it's so windy you can't even use an umbrella. I hope you get your strentgh and energy back soon.

Well lets see, at the bottom of the thread it tells us the time but it's telling me it's 2: 16 am when it's actually 9:16 am here! so that makes me here in Scotland 7 hrs in front of you guys, i think!!! LOL.

Well i had a good rest and sleep and now i'm going for some shopping, i'll check in again later with you guys.

P.S. Kimberly sorry if i sound ignorant but are you taking any anti-depressants? If not maybe worth going to your docs. I can't remember if you are taking anything.

  THanks Gill.  Hugs back.  :-)   No, am not taking anti-depressants.  Long story.  I was thinking of it today though - but I go in and out of depression so much, as opposed to it being a constant heaviness, that I don't know that I'd want to take something on a continual basis when the depression doesn't bug me all the time.  And long story besides that.  But am pondering the idea of it.  I think Karen was right when she said it sounds like I'm having a flare.  Karen, do you find that with fibro. flares it also affects mood?  I think that's part of it.  But do you know, I am also just sooooo disappointed about the dishwasher being such a problem for me because my life is honestly so much better when I have a dishwasher!!  Doing dishes is something I hate - plus it hurts - plus it means I'm way more tired in the day and usually need an extra nap.  Other stuff around the house not so bad, but dishes - just horrible.  Soooo......

  I went out today to some Thrift Stores and I bought 110 pieces of silverware for like $7.00.  Extra bowls and plates and extra glasses at the dollar store.  So I figure I can just use the dishwasher for the cutlery and glasses and run it once a week or something when I'm not around to be affected by the chemical stuff it stinks.  And then just do the plates and bowls by hand every 2-3 days (now that I have extra to last that long!) which I don't mind so much.  So that was my masterplan.  I guess either I was desperate, very creative or just in a wierd mood.  Or all of the above! 

  It is crazy windy hear today too Gill.  Not sure what it's like Karen's way.  She seems to be right in the snow belt (eh, Karen?)  The snow was blowing across the roads and it looked very pretty but also was a bit precarious, so I jsut drove nice and slow.

   You ladies have a lovely night your way - oops!  I guess that would be morning your way Gill!  Nice chatting and thanks again for the hugs.  :0)

Kimberly,  I do think a fibroflare does effect our moods.  It can so easily cause us to be depressed.  Especially when the fatigue sets in.  I can handle the pain but not the fatigue.  The fatigue not only effects me physically but emotionly as well.  I get emotionally eshausted.  Have no incentive to do anything other than sleep.  And knowing that the weather plays a big part in it, I can honestly say that the weather effects us emotionally and physically too.  Can't win for losing sometimes.  We just had a full moon and I believe that can have something to do with that too.  It got so cold here this past week.  Now the barometric pressure is fluctuating with the full moon in passing.  What a concept, but I kind of think the moon has a lot to do with the way that we feel.

It sounds llike you made out well with the purchasing of items for your home.  Was the silverware real silver?  I find it at garage sales sometimes.  I like to make little sculptures out of it and jewelry too.  Once I get it polished and all the rough edges out of it, it can look amazing.

Gillian,  How are you today/tonight?  I hope that you are doing well, You sound good.  Have you been going to any more movies?  How is your sister doing?  Do you have snow there like we do?  Do the kids like it?  I sound like I am giving you the third degree with all these questions.  Just curious.  How old are your son's I know sean is about 3.  I forgot.  Fibrofog, I can't retain any information for any extent of time anymore.  I have gotten use to it, but others wonder if I am a space case.  No memory whatsoever.  We somewhat but not a lot.

Thanks for sharing about fibro. / moods / weather Karen. Makes sense. It was helpful reading your comments.

I didn't get real silverware - I don't think so anyway! Can't say I'd know if I did. lol. Everything is washed and put away...whatever it is. Yeah, I think it's just regular cutlery. Your silverware outings/art sounds cool.

I'm just doing what I need to do today, but not pushing myself too hard. Hubby is listening to music in the next room - I like that. I've wanted for a couple days to put some on, but still don't know where all the cd's are. We're gradually finding things though since moving.

Hi Ladies,

I'm good i havent been to anymore movies, maybe go next week. My sister is doing great, did i tell you she is a teacher? She teaches in the local school here in Caldercruix thats the village i live in. She teaches age 10 to 11, thats the last class before they go to high school. Plus she has a wee boy age 3 his name is Declan, hes a real cutie!
We don't have any snow here at the minute but its rainy and windy. The boys get so excited when it snows.
I got Sean a bob the builder bike for his birthday which is on Feb 16th, i don't know if yous know bob the builder, he is a cartoon caracter, and Sean loves him. Liam will be 6 on the 18th of March so it will be all go the next 2 months. He wants to go to the bowling alley for his birthday, so i'll go with my sister and brother with their boys. Then his dad will take him to the movies later on. My sister doesn' speak to Stephen because off the situation and what he did to me.
Well thats me for now, i better get out of my pj's before the boys come back from staying at their dad's.

Hi Gillian,

We have Bob the Builder here too.  I think that it is so cute.  I have watched it before, the kids around here love him.  I think he will love his new bike.   Bowling sounds fun, though I throw mostly gutter balls.  Not too good at it. 

Your weather sounds warmer than ours.  Our town is called a village too. It isn't very big.  But it sure is trouble, the kids have nothing, I mean absolutely nothing to do around here, so they get into trouble.  It is sad.  The community doesn't do anything for them.  I don't know where our tax dollars go.  I think that the people should speak up and say something, demand that they start doing something for the children.  Our school systems aren't too bad, though they are always broke.  The parents have to pay for the kids to get into sports and other things.  It shouldn't be that way.  There should be a lot more for the kids.  I guess you have to be wealthy if you want to have your child participate in extra ciricular activities.  That really isn't right.

Oh well, I guess that it could be worse.  But like I say it is kind of sad.  We have a special day every summer for the kids.  With games and a band plays at night, that just gives them an excuse to get drunk and high, and that is exactly what goes on.  They party.  Then they get into fights.  I think that there are fun things for the wee little ones, but that goes on only for a while during the day, but it is better than nothing.

Well Gillian, I probably bored you to death with my venting.  I just think they could do more.  It is our tax dollars that pay for everything.

I hope you have a lovely night (I think it is night).  Write again when you can.  It sounds like you stay pretty busy with your boys.  That is so good.  They need that quality time with their mom.  You are a good mother, I hope that you know that.

Karen i could never get bored on here, i love to see it when one off you have posted, i love to read about where you both live and how your days have been. So no need to worry about venting too much!

On the ostomy page of this forum we have a page on photobucket and we all have our photos on it, it can be quite good that way you can put a face to each name when your reading their post, maybe we should do something like that.

It has been milder weather here and there was no rain today, i didn't do much except go to the supermarket for a few bits and pieces. So it's 19:15 pm here and i'm going to get Liam's uniform sorted for school tomorrow.

I will have to check out the ostomy forum and see what the photobucket is.  That sounds really cool.  We deid a discription type thread on the fibro forum and it is funny how you can picture a person to be opposite of how they look.  It is cool to put a face to the name.

It is kind of nice outside, it is thawing, but the sun isn't out.  I want to go ski so bad, but all I do is sit here.  I talk myself out of it every day.  I have some paper garbage that I need to burn, boxes and such.  I have a burning barrel, but have to tromp through the snow to get to it.  I wish I would just do it instead of think about it.  You know how that goes.  Procrastination?

I got up about 10:00 this morning.  John has a bad sciatic nerve pain in his right hip and leg.  He can hardly walk.  He feels so useless.  I try to do what he can't.  He should be better in a few days, it takes time for that to get better.  I had some lidoderm patches left over from my shoulder.  I gave him one to put on, he says that it helps.  I sure hope so.  That is such an awful feeling.

How are you?  I know that Kimberly is going through a rough time.  A lot of people are right now, tis the season.  It seems rough this time of year every year.  I have been a little blue, but part of that was pms.  Now that that is over, I hope to start feeling better.  How are your boys?  What do they like to do this time of year?  Do your lakes freeze?  Ours do and the guys go ice fishing.

I hope that you have a wonderful night/day, depending on when you read this.

Hey gals,

It's almost 2 am my time...whoops! I am still up. :0) We just got cable tv and there were good movies on! I watched what I think was Little Women. I only found it over half way through, but whatever it was, I enjoyed it. Then I watched a movie I saw a few years ago but don't recall the name of that either. When hubby and I first married I watched a gazillion movies because he was a real movie buff but I had seen next to none. I am too sensitive to watch anything too graphic or depressing, but I like comedys, and some dramas. I think I mentioned when I started posting here about seeing August Rush a couple months ago. I'd like to see that again. It really spoke to me.


I finally felt halfway decent today, so that was nice. I am trying to take it easy still and just pace myself better. It is actually helping having the cable tv to just relax more. I am kind of ADDish, and have a hard time just sitting still. Partly sometimes if I am not feeling well I just want to go, go, go to take my mind off how I feel but then I overdo it. So tv is a good way right now to take my mind off things but to do it by relaxing rather than overdoing it.

It has been snowing all day after a very windy night. In the morning you could see the grass as the wind had blown much of the snow away! But now again everything is covered in white. I made a short trek to the grocery store tonight and it was sooo pretty. Everyone was rushing in and out of the store to get out of the cold.

  Karen, you let us know when you make it out to your backyard, and how that goes, kay?  Just dress real warm and enjoy yourself.  (Easier said than done, but one of these days I am sure you'll get out and it will feel great.  :0)

Well, I should be getting my beauty rest I suppose. lol! So good-night and good-day. Stay warm you two. And Gill, thanks for sharing about your boys. They sound really sweet.

WOW girl you were sure up late last night! I signed in this morning about 9 am and here you were, i so hope you are having a good restful sleep now.
I'm glad you were relaxing though watching your films, i love Little Women the original one with Angela Lansbury in it.

Karen how is John is he able to get about any better? How did he go with the patches? Our lakes dn't usually freeze over i don't think it's cold enough here for that.

Oh Liam has not been well again, up through the night as if he's still asleep then starts all this jerking movement, this is the 2 time it has happened and it's really quite upsetting, i even posted on the epilepsy forum late last night for some advice. Then i got a doctors appt for him today at midday, so the doctor doesn't think it's epilepsy or seizures as he still has some kind of control of his movements. He thinks it's more like night terrors!
He thinks this is being caused by stress, maybe with all that's happened this past year, you just don't know what goes on in their wee heads.

Hi there ladies,

It sounds like the both of you are doing well.  I am doing pretty good this morning too.  The sun is out  and it isn't too cold.  Wow it feels like spring.  I have some burning to do outside.  We have a burning barrel, if I can get to it.  We still have all the Christmas boxes and tons of paper items to burn.  I should just put it out with the trash but I like to burn, no I am not a piromaniac.  I just like being outside and watch the garbage dissapear.

I hope that Liam starts doing better, that sounds kind of scarey.  Maybe with things settleing down the night terrors will stop.  Do you think that it is because of all that you guys went through in the past year?  Just make him feel safe and I am sure he will get better.

Embers, I love watching good movies.  My favorite television is comedy.  It seems to take your mind off of other things.  Sitcoms are cool, I get lost in them.  I am glad that you got cable now, that makes a difference.  At least you wont get stuck on Three's company and not be able to change it.LOL.

I hope you two have the most wonderful day/night.  I wonder if we should start a new thread, or just keep posting on this one, I like it because we can talk back and forth with just the three of us.

Lol Karen!! I havn't even seen Three's Company on this particular cable package. THat made me laugh. I am surprised you remembered my Three's Company long and depressing nights in TN. Yes, it used to be Threes Company and midnight, then write to you here on forum.

So you were on the forum in the morning when I was still up - that's funny!

It's freezing cold here today. My lettuce was in the car for half an hour and started to freeze! So I had to chop off a bunch of it by the time I got home. My leather purse strap started to freeze stiff too. Funny! BUt this is the winter weather I wanted. So I shan't complain. :0)

Karen, maybe your ancestors were bonafide cave men and that's why you like the outdoors fire so much. haha. I think there is something relaxing about fire, just like there is in lots of natural things like rain and wind and stuff. I used to love to roast marshmellows over a campfire, and get them all black. Tasted yummyk but unlike some people I didn't actually eat the black stuff. how bout you guys?
