Cymbalta

Oh gosh never mind...I just went through looking for cymbalta posts and found some...but there a little scary. Maybe I should ask for something else. Like celexa or zoloft or something. I've read more bad than good about cymbalta. I guess its good for alot of people and I'm glad for everyone its successful for. But I'm a scaredy cat when it comes to meds and I work myslef up into thinking the bad side effects are going to happen to me. Does anybody else ever get anxious about taking new stuff? Anyhow what kind of ant depressants are good with side effects?

I take Cymbalta and like most of the AD's they all have side effects and can sound scary.  I am glad your going to give it a go.
Remember everyone is different and give the med time to work.  You won't have any Aha moment but you should just start to feel better and be able to cope and go on with your usual life.

There are so many choices and if you need and the Cymbalta does not work, you may try another or several. 
I think you will do ok on this one :) I was up to 120 mg at one time but am currently at the 60 mg and I hold pretty well.

Hi, I am new to this site, I was looking into Cymbalta. First I have to say my life has been pretty lousy for the past 19 years. After giving birth to my first and only child, I suffered from Post Pardum Depression, which then turned into a clinical depression (I was so bad I was hospitalized for 6 weeks). about 9 years after that I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue and FM, since then I lost my younger brother and my marriage fell apart. Then my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer, she was operated on and came to live with me, (I love her dearly but not something I would recommend), 5 years later she was diagnosed with a second lung cancer, thankfully she has been operated on again no chemo no radiation and she is still doing well. Then she sunk into a terrible depression, she was on a few different meds and she cried all the time and talked about not wanting to live. I finally brought her to a different Phyciatrist and told them I felt she was over medicated and not on the right antidepressant, they swiitched her to Cymbalta, in 3 weeks time I saw amazing results she is happy, up doing things and seems to be getting her old self back, (she is feeling so well she wants to return to her apartment). I myself heard Cymbalta does amazing things for not only depression but for Fibromyalgia, so I am thinking of going off my current meds (luvox) which I feel has never made me feel whole again and going to cymalta, now I read all these side effects and I am wondering if it is for me. Luvox has very little side effects. I also want to know if the people who have talked of night sweats are in menapause, I had a full hystorectomy at 37 I am now 46 I still get night sweats but if the depression and pain is taken away I will gladly sweat my butt off. Someone also mentioned weird dreams, I myself have the occassional strange dreams that wake me up or I feel I am trying to wake up from it and can't, do you think this is from depression or the meds?
