ShynSassy, I apologize if i came across as feeling as though there is any right or wrong approach. of course sometimes insurance sets the limits for you. i was just surprised that everyone made the same suggestion and was curious as to why that is. i suppose that in my personal experience, professionally and personally, a referral rarely came from a primary care physician, but of course all insurance companies are different.
i feel as though speaking to a primary care physician about
your mental health can lead you down a medication without therapy approach which, in my opinion, is part of the problems many of us face regarding stigma and psychiatric medications. i get the feeling that this forum is more about
support and less about
discussion in regards to treatments, so by all means, continue. i was just curious.
