105-Fast Driving Award

this isnt how I wanted to start this thread but here goes, I just arrived back home from picking up my car.  It is really pretty and I have already had several people comment on it on my way home.  It truly is a blast to drive, it drives so smooth.

Smooth enough that I just got my first speeding ticket today.  I was cruising down the interstate, listening to my music not really watching out for staties after all I usually talk my way out of them.  Not today though.  Long story short, when i past him i guess he clocked me at 105. When i went by him i didnt slow down so he called for backup thinking I was going to run.  Needless to say after an exciting police chase, I was issued a ticket for speeding.  He only wrote it for 90 because he said that i was already 30 over and if he put the speed, I would have had my car impounded and went jail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Needless to say I was very lucky, you can best believe I am going to get my ohio patrol stickers back on my car.

I know I know, I should not be driving that fast I know, I have always been a gear-head.  But I will have to slow down now.

It was a long trip and I didnt have any problem with my old car at all.  When I took all my things out I did cry I felt like I was abandoning it.  Pathetic, huh???

Well got to go put laundry away.  Mentally I did ok the whole trip, teared up a couple times on certain songs.

Im not sure whether you measure speed in MPH or KPH in the US but if its MPH... I cant really lecture you since I have been clocked at 96-MPH (And thats what went on the ticket as well! lol) Im glad your new car works properly and that you FULLY road tested it! lol. Is it red?

Yes I did think I was Mario Andretti for a minute then I remembered that I was on the interstate not in the 500, lol.

It did feel good going that fast but I have noticed that you can get to 80mph before you know it, that is what is going to be hard:(.

It is a beautiful day here I think it is like 60 out.  As usual I am in the house, thinking about going out and sitting on the swing, not sure.  I am a little depressed today I think because of all the motorcycles going by my house.  I have to say it is getting easier though.  I know for a fact that I probably dont even cross his mind anymore, after all, he has everything he wants and I think he is happy, in fact Im sure he is.  My heart is starting to heal with the thought of him not caring about me anymore. Does it hurt, yea but I picture him everyday laughing and enjoying life without me, how can he do that?  I will be fine I guess.

My car is great and I DO love it.

Im so happy for you (and your car! lol). The heart does heal itself... for some it takes longer than others because people keep hurting it but when the pressure is off and the dust has settled... it heals itself.

this car has really lifted my spirits, although it has been beautiful and warm so I do miss my convertible    but then I remember that it was on its last leg.  I will have another convertible some day.

NO MY CAR IS NOT RED--------WHITE!  I thought white cars were less conspicuious to law enforcement,lol.  never got a ticket in my red or green car, lol

I get so many compliments on it, there are not many of this make of car so it does stand out a little bit, I DO LOVE IT!!!!

I am going to go and visit my sister as soon as I can, I cant wait to see her again.

LOL I think the whole red car thing was my fault!!! I suggested it might be red since its a sports car (McClaren and Ferrari both use red!) and it seems to have stuck! I am sorry

White cars are great but you have to clean them so often! Thats the only thing I have against them really. I too am interested in what car it is... especially if its a rare one!

I have had a couple rough days.  Well as my luck would have it, my car you know something else I love, probably wont be mine much longer.  I took it to a hyundai garage to have a couple things fixed and here the vehicle has had extensive front damage and they cannot even repair the small things I brought it there for.  Long story short, I guess I will have to either get a lawyer or something.  I feel like a complete idiot, I have talked to the dealer and he says he can fix it, YEA RIGHT,  I am letting ebay know as well.  I cant help but think that if I had someone with me that knew what to look for, I would not be in this mess.  Here I was so thrilled that I had accomplished this myself.  Guys it is bad how much I love this car, I talk to it all the time and yesterday it rained so I rescheduled my appt that I had today from yesterday.  The last time I felt this way about a vehicle was when I had my Lexus.

I have been extremely tired the last month.  I experience anxiety attacks when I think of certain things.  With what happened today, really depressed.

My baby is a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon GT/Special Edition, it is sooooo pretty!

Anyway, tomorrow is my birthday and I am onve again celebrating another holiday alone.

I bought the Tiburon for myself for my birthday, so much for that.

Thanks for the happy birthday wishes!!!!! Besides my mom, daughter and son, you are the only greetings I got, sometimes I miss being a kid because I would at least get a card or two from someone that loves you.

I did my taxes today and about threw up.  If it werent for a certain new credit I would have received nothing!!!  Now I am worried because I planned on a lot more to payback a debt and help with my medical bills, I will never get out of be poor.  Oh well.  Just get depressed thinking of it.

Well I am going to go my daughter and her fiancee are coming over to visit for my birthday.  I just found out that I may be a grandma in 9 mos. :(:)  That is another story, in fact you guys are the first ones I've told.  Not sure how I feel about it.

Happy Birthday Teresa! Im sorry I didnt manage to get online yesterday so my wishes are a little late but I hadnt forgotten. Im so sorry to hear about your car. I dont know about the US but in the UK, main dealers are usually pretty good at repairing things, even the really bad stuff. We have a register in the UK where all cars which are written off (I think you call it totalled in the US). If a car is written off BEYOND REPAIR then it is on the register and there isnt a good garage within 5000 miles that will touch it. I dont know if you have such a system to find out what happened to the car and how bad it was. In terms of lawyers, Im not even going to say anything since I know NOTHING about US law. Karen and Shy should be able to help you mind.

Please dont get too down about this. It is possible that there is still a happy ending at the end of this... even if it results in you getting your money back and you getting a different car. (I'd go for a red one! )

Hi Teresa,

I am so sorry for your misfortune, but things do change.  It must have been nice to see your daughter on your birthday.  That was a special time for you and I hope that you enjoyed it. 

As for filing your taxes, weigh it out, it might be worth investigating, depending on what you would get back.  And it really isn't that long of a wait.  Sometimes when you file, you have to wait until then anyway.  I hope you can get the most out of it without too much aggrivation.

I hope that your day gets better for you.  I woke up to more snow.  Ugh... I am so sick of it that it isn't even funny anymore.  Last year we were finding morel mushrooms the 24th of April.  This year it doesn't look like we will find them until May.  Boo hoo.  I love mushroom hunting in the woods.
