Terrified, of this weeks porcedure...

 

thinking of   ways to escape and Not go thru it...

 

having an Injection into SI joint... a "nerve" black"??

 

panic attack and   fear gripping me over teh issue of having this done...

 

 

terrified of neddles// and  knowing there will be pain during procedure

 

any way... anyhitng that can ease or help me thru this ?

It is ok to be feeling this way and in my experience if you just tell them how you are feeling sometimes they can give you some drugs to help you with this situation that will ease up on your feelings. Having had shots of novacaine and cortisone put in mine I would say that it does hurt, but less and for a shorter period of time then having my wisdom teeth out.
P.S. it really helped with pain!!!!!!!!!! yeah and was totally worth the short term pain....

Hi Shelter

As Navy said you can get something to help beforehand... I would contact your doctor and let them know how you are feeling,they might want to do something for you the night before.

Hi Shelter,
This is what I do when I am dreading a procedure as I get anxious and even tried to leave the hospital one time.

I just keep telling my self by  bedtime this will all be behind me, it will be history.  I will be OK. Self talk can do wonders.  During the procedure try to take your mind to some pleasant place and keep picturing yourself in that spot.

Hi Shelter,

Also deep breathing helps with this anxiety. Try that, as others have said, maybe they can give you something beforehand. I would ask your doctor about that.

i also posted in chronic pain, since teh procedure has to do with   my abck/ & SI joints. 

however...

the knee bone is connected to the emtions bone

LOl

and  I have had  depression and anxiety  during this whole longgggggg

9 month journey thus far

Hi Shelter,

Administration wants us to keep our signatures down to 10 lines or less, though I love your verse, I have been asked to alert you on this rule, #18 in the forum rules.

I am sure that you can understand my position, though I hate to have to ask you, could you please edit your signatuer to 10 lines or less when you have a chance. I know that you are facing some major and scarey things coming up. So I really feel bad having to ask this of you. AT your convenience could you take care of this for me.

ok took of   meds....

shorter "signature" now...  my TAIL got cut off

I wanted to thank you all for your encouragement as I faced todays.... SI Injection....

I got really anxious  enroute to the hospital

& I had pritned off what you wonderful folks had typed to me,

that helped me know

Im not alone in this... world..

I got very anxious at hospital

and broke down twice..

hands sweating...

crying....

really    really scared...

and

unfortunately  I did feel the  proceedure

I wasnt really frozen until... I was in recovery...

Im  ok

I made it thru...

and now the freezing ahs begun to wane... and so I need to rest &  take it easy for a few days...

I am so happy that your procedure is over and now hopefully you will benefit from it.
