So i havent slept much in the last 4 days. I have been under some stress. When i went and saw my doctor he gave me rozerem to sleep. I try not to use them. Im trying to sleep on my own. But after a couple of days i need my sleep i take one. My doctor recommended me a therapist but he is on medical leave for a month so i have to call back monday and he will recommend me someone else. I just wish i could sleep. Im so tired.

Hi there,

Do you take an anti-depressant? AD's have a nasty habit of affecting your sleep pattern and it could be that the AD doent suit you and you need to change. My mum has come off Zoloft since it disrupted her sleep pattern so much but I have no problems at all so it really is a personal thing. A therapist is a good idea because hopefully they will teach you relaxation techniques to help you get to sleep such as meditation. Music is often a good way to get to sleep.

Good Morning,

I am sorry your having trouble sleeping.  If you have talked to your pysician and he gave you the med to help sleep, I would use it rather than going without sleep until you get your stress issues worked out .  Your on Celexa, perhaps your PCP may want to change this med as Darren said meds work different for each person and there are many AD's to choose from.

Please do talk to your PCP to get a referral to a different therapist as a month is to long to wait and if this therapist is off on medical, they may not be ready to take on any new patient as soon as they return to work.

Remember to advocate for yourself.  I am glad you found us and please keep posting.

I know what you mean about not getting sleep. I have a combination of anxiety and depression. The anxiety keeps me awake, but it also spirals me downward. I agree with what has been said before. I suggest that you talk with your doctor about trying alternative anti-depressants. I was on zoloft, but I found that it was hard on my stomach. I switched to prozac and when I was on it, it worked fine for me, but there are two signficant side effects to this drug for me. 1) I was tired all the time, so I am sleeping more than I should. 2) I gained some weight. These side effects went away when I came off of them, but I recently had a panic attack so I am back on them again.

I can relate to you about wanting to sleep. When I was over in China recently, I couldn't sleep for 3 straight days and I had a panic attack. Sleep is very important, but you're not alone, there are millions of Americans and Canadians are suffering from type of sleep disorder too.

Please keep us posted as to your condition. We look forwad to hearing from you soon.

I use a Mug of HOT milk each night it has a natural ingredient in it which is activated when heated
You can literally feel it warm your body and I know it works for me and my daughter.........

You have nothing to lose unless you dont like hot milk then you could add some cinnamon to top( dont forget to take skim off of top) or a bit of hot chocolate ....not too much

Wishing you a good sleep this could also be used in conjuction with the sleeping meds your doc gave you if you take them...
