This weekend, My b/f's Grandmother came over to the cabin for a barbecue.
While she was there,she was having a hard time breathing,and had to be lifted out of the wheelchair.

My 17 year old son was there,and he was helping them get her in and out of her chair.
After about an hour of her being there,they took her to the bathroom and while they were lifting her she collapsed in her daughter's arms.

My son stepped in and started giving her CPR because she was not breathing and had no heart rate.
She passed away in the bedroom.

I feel so bad for this family,I am so worried about my son...very proud,but very worried..
I am not sure yet when the funeral is, and I have told them I would help in anyway...

Our close friends lost their house in the Parkersburg,Iowa tornado this weekend.

I did get to see my baby Graduate.... then to see him do CPR on someone, it has been very emotional that is for sure.

Having alot of problems with my job,and that is of course waying on my mind.. not loosing it,but they are replacing the person I work under,and I am worried about the future of it.

So....... going to get through it,just wanted to let you all know just in case I am distant for awhile.

Shy,

What a wonderful young man you have raised to have him respond in a critical situation.  It is always good to be able to talk about the experience after a person has done CPR or witnessed any traumatic event.  Get him to talk about how he felt it went, and be sure he knows he did his very best, the rest is out of our hands.

I am so sorry for all the people around you who are hurting and need help right now.  You take care of family first and I know you well enough to know you are aware we are all here for you.  Your the best and I will offer my prayers for the victims of the storm and the family of the dear lady that died.

Thanks all, we will get through it. I am taking it one day at a time.
My b/f hadn't said a whole lot,and last night he was in a talking mood. He is really shocked and worried about his mom.

My brother and my son are very close,so my brother got him to talk. Son is ok,just wanted to do everything he could,he said that he knew that she was not going to wake up,but had to do something.
What a great kid.

I am ok,got thru the funeral and the long weekend. And ready to just chill out for awhile and get my energy back!

Shy take as long as it needs to chill out and just be yourslef. You do truly have a heoric son.  I know cpr, but dont know if I could have done it, right there on the spot, have never had to use it.

I guesses when we are faced with that situation, we at least give it a try.

Thanks for sharing with us, so we can try and help too, as you hhelp us all.....

Thanks for your kind words Sheryl. I am so proud of him I could burst

He was a pallbearer at the funeral,and he seemed to be sad,but so proud too.

I would not know what to do without all of you on this forum!!

Shy you should firstly be congratulated on rearing such a wonderful young man you have done really well. For your lad to take control and try is a great feat in it`s self .
The grandmothers time was at an end and she went peacefully with the ones that loved her the most thats all that anyone could ever wish for .
Given all this you need to heal yourself ,Iknow when work committments are at a raised stress level it can make it difficult .
Just remember you are an inspiration to me and all those you help in here always ready to lend an ear to ones troubles .
As so many have told me you can get through this we are all fighting some kind of battle in our lives some just a bit harder than others.

Hey there my friend, good to see you and you know how happy I am to be here with you all.  I am available most everyday so please do take your vacations and rests when you need them

I think your son could go on to be a paramedic.............what a smart young man and he did not hesitate to use his training.  I am proud of him and of you..................the apple does not fall far from the tree.  Do apples fall from oak trees, because you are stronger then you know?

Kitt,I am so happy that you are here,you have helped so many people including myself get through the rough times.

I suggested him being a paramedic,but he is dead set on being a vet... he might change his mind,so who knows..he has alot of college ahead of him.
