I'm depressed and 14 years old. Both my parents are divorced and my sister that i've lived with my whole life just moved away to live with my dad. My mom has never really been reliable. I'm almost always home alone. Sometimes my mom is gone until 2 A.M on a school night. Most of the time i fall asleep with-out her here. She's usually out playing cards with her friends most of the time. I always worry that she may never come home again. It's very hard to deal with at 14 and i just need to vent and get some advice and comfort cry

Hey Avangelique,

I'm sorry that things aren't too good for you right now.

Have you tried talking with you Mum about how you are feeling? Or even writing her a letter if you are finding it hard to talk to her?

Confused has a great idea there. Communication is a vital part of any family unit and when parents divorce, it seems to be something that nearly always disappears.

Always know that there is always advice and comfort to be found here. We are a very close family here and we welcome you in with open arms. We all care for and support each other so if you need to talk to someone outside the house... we will always be here sweetie.

Avangelique, I just wanted to welcome you too to Healing well, I have found this forum very kind and open and will to listen and offer suggestions.

i know must be so young, and so much of a load to carry.  As Darrren and confusedli offered maybe you can write to your mom, email her if thats an option, thats what i do sometimes when i cant talk to someone i will email them, and that seems to be effective.

I want to welcome you to HealingWell and to tell you we are here to support you..

I agree with the others who have posted before me.  Try to talk to your Mom and let her know how you are feeling.  She may have no clue that you are in a bad place as this sounds like she has been feeling pretty foot loose for quite a while.

May I ask why your sister chose to go live with your Dad?  I am so sorry you have to go through this and I want you to know you can come here 24/7 and write down your vents, ask for support or whatever you need.

Hi Avangelique,

These guys gave you some pretty good advice. open communication with your mom is so important. I hope that you are able to talk to her. Also we are here for you. And if you feel the need, you can always email one of us.
