When I was on my walk yesterday, I ran up on a gentleman working very hard in his yard. He mentioned to me that he had come to the conclusion that he spends all summer getting ready for the upcoming winter. How true that is. My husband and I are going through the same thing right now. And it seems like no matter how early you start, you are scrambling at the end to finish up before the snow flies.
I know not all of us live in these types of climates where the snow flies, but I was curious on how you all are doing, getting ready for winter. Christmas shopping falls into this category also. That is always a stressful time of year. And we don't have the money this year that we had for getting gifts for the grandchildren like we did last year. I try not to stress over it, because no matter what we get, their parents and their other grandmother will get more and better stuff. So what can you do? It isn't the gift, it is the giving, right? Some kids dont' realize that especially when they are as spoiled as our grandkids. Luckily the granddaughter is younger and loves clothes, that works out good for me.
Anyway, check in and let me know how things are going for you. We can all work on this together to keep the stress down. Holidays can suck sometimes. But it is all in the atmoshpere of the season, not the presents. I know a lot of us get depressed when we can't give like we want. But I am afraid that this year is going to be hard for a lot of us. So let's support eachother to make it easier.
I hope that you all are having a wonderful day. Let me know hwo it is going for you.
Hugs, Karen
PS. I picked up a cookie press at a garage sale this summer and hope to make some shaped Christmas cookies. Wish me luck.
