I have suffered from SEVERE depression for the past six months not being able to move, extremely ...............

Edit:

Hi Sherriann,

I am sorry that you are feeling the way that you are and I am sorry that not a lot of people have information on topomax for you. I do know that it does not cause weight gain and that it is used for depression and I believe seizure disorder.

I believe that topomax is an older drug, but I am not sure. But I have heard good things about it so give it a chance. If it is like most other antidepressants, it can take four to six weeks to actually take full effect. Have you talked to your doctor lately? Does he know how you are feeling right now? You might want to call and I took some numbers and websites down for you just in case.

I can see that you are having an especially hard time right now. Remember that we are here for you. Have you tried googling topomax? That will give you all the information about it. I hope that it works for you. I was going to try it, but they put me on abilify instead. It is helping a lot.

I am truly sorry you are feeling so bad. I had to edit your post due to the topic and also my concerns for your family.....that is why I am asking you to seek help now, right now............call a number, go to the ER but seek help.

If you are feeling this bad you need immediate help and we are not professionals but peers just like you.

I understand your frustrations as I have gone through many of the meds and getting and getting on and off is extremely difficult for some.

Discussions of suicide or self-harm that are deemed negative and therefore potentially injurious to others and therefore are  not permitted.

I do not want you to think we do not care but we have many members and we are not professionals.

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. You are worth much more. Don't make any decisions on the spur of the moment..............you and your family deserve more.

Thanks to all your replies I have gone to the ER six times all they do is take blood and urine and send me home even after I tell them how bad I am feeling and how suicidal I am its because i dont have a plan they wont help me i assume.  I dont know what else to do than to stop living like this i truly truly cant take it anymore im not sure how to work this thread thing i hope i am doing it right

yes i have googled topomax and read a lot of bad things and a few good things about it.  I am myself concerned for myself and my family because of how bad I am feeling but I dont know what else to do.  I dont want to feel like this but I cannot help it.  They put me on abilify also was one of the medications they had me try and it made me ten times more suicidal than i already was...so now I am on my tenth or eleventh medication by itself praying it will help me...

Have you tried an Intensive Outpatient Program (aka Day Program)? A lot of times those have less stringent requirements to qualify for acceptance. Perhaps you can ask your Psychiatrist about that. He also might be able to make the decision to admit you as an In-Patient (non-emergency) even though you say you don't have a plan. It's really up to him, but might be worth asking.

It sounds like you are having a terrible time on the medications. Are you sleeping? I know when I was on Topamax it kept me from sleeping (I was kinda wired plus those creepy tingling feelings in my hands & feet made it hard to relax). If you're not sleeping much, be sure to let your doc know right away because they can get you something to help you sleep and that alone might help you feel better.

There are a lot of options out there for meds, or maybe you just need better therapy & can get better without medicine. Try to be patient & hang on a while longer. Things really do get better.

I too am starting on topamax this week. Do try to go to the ER to get admitted or talk to your pdoc. You have to stay safe.
