hello to all in the community.

been thinking about my and my neighbours dogs. hmm, i am fortunate to have my dog. my dog knows when i am down, she gets me out of the place as much as she can. i know for sure that my animal knows when i am clearly depressed. for this i look after my animal well. my dog is my acme pick up tonic. it works the majority of the time! our pets miss us when we are in the throws of deep depression. i remember when i was in a psychiatric hospital my sister brought in my dog, had not seen her for over a month at that time. she was just as happy to see me as i was her.

i thought that this was an intersting topic for the community, for some people animals are akin to humans.

You are spot on, pets make great therapists. I have one dog and I would love to get another puppy but not sure my older dog would take to that.  We always had two for so long.

Cats are just too darn independant. The cat doesn't live with you, you live with the cat. lol...

her name is buttons. she would be 8 and a bit, pure bred pomeranian, with beautiful fawn brown fur. she loves her teddies, me and i love her. We do heaps of walking, lately it has been hard as i am very depressed and definately showing patterns of negative affect. I have been sleeping during the day, i still do the basics albeit i dont want to, yet i know if i dont life will just get harder, hence i push myself to get stuff done. having a few other medical problems as well. done my list for the qwack, hard 2 get an appt because he is a kind bugger, yet if i do not need him i tell him i will see ya later.

If anyone knows of an anti-depressant that works well with abilify, bar effexor i would sure be grateful. Yeah cats, in ancient times cats were worshipped as gods, something they havent forgot! In regards to effexor, 4th stint, as i call it-it has pooped out, totally and utterly. well blessings 2 you all. jamiee and buttons.

I love my beautiful cat. She's not as independant as most cats or even most dogs. She can be a little whiney if she's not had any attention for a few days. She knows when I'm sad and knows when I'm angry. If I'm sad she comes and cuddles me and keeps me company-If I'm positively burning up with anger inside, she stays away upstairs out of the way. If she wants too play she will bring a toy over-or just play on her own with a bit of string if I ignore her.
I somehow get unconditional love from my Sandy. I think it is because she is an indoor only cat-they tend too be much more lovable.

I almost had to put down my little Napoleon to, but come to find out he at some plastic and that's what the vet saw in the exrays of him. She said it would work itself down and out of his system because it wasn't very big and it did. I am really glad he is still around. I don't know what I would have done without him.

Hi all,

I have birds and cats. I know, I know....it might seem like a funny combination, but they all get along! On bad days, they are my reason for getting out of bed. No matter how depressed I get, I feel drawn to them, to feed and care for them, and to love them. I thank God for them - they really have been a light in my darkest days!
