Writing a letter...can you help me please?

I would like to write a letter to a teacher that i have become very close with. She has helped me get through my depression and has truly inspired me to become a better person. What are some things I can say in this letter? I know its hard to say because you dont personally know me, but if you were to write a touching letter to someone, kind of like a "thank you", what would you say?

Just some thoughts to build on:

You helped me through a dark period

I'm grateful to have someone in my life as caring as you

You make a difference in people's lives

Let the teacher know that they changed your life too.
How much you have learned in class and about life.
There should be more people in the world like them.

hmm you could try some of this:

you have helped me in my time of need
you understand me better than most people
for me you are more than a teacher, your a good friend
I hope I won't disapoint you
you have shown me the way,I promise that I will continue to improve myself on my journey
I will never forget your advice specially ">type something here<"
thank you for getting me out of troubled times
without your help and advice I would be lost
you are a kind, carring and thoughtful person

Good Morning,

I would suggest you write it from your heart but keep it simple and straight to the point. Try not to repeat yourself and state the facts you want to share with  this person.

This is a very nice idea and I am sure your teacher will be touched to recieve this letter.  Also a nice card would work with a special verse that may suit the situation.

You might start your letter with "This brings sincere thanks..........."

Hi Taryn,

I like the idea of giving examples of what you've learned from your discussions with this teacher.....specifically, what issues she has helped you with, and how you have been able to implement the ideas in your daily life, or how it has made you feel to talk to her about these issues. Perhaps you could make note of the things you are grateful for in your relationship with her. I think your gesture is wonderful, Taryn....and I'm sure she will treasure this letter for many years to come. Good luck to you.
