Got into Dr today

Hey all I was able to get into my Dr office today thank god! Since I haven't been taking effexor very long or on a high dose the dr just wants me to stop taking it. I will see him in a week after I stop then we will discuss another med. I'm sure I will still feel some withdrawal so wish me luck through the next week. He did mention celexa, has anyone taken this or on it? I am just so leary to take anything else....I'm not feeling very optimistic because there are so many drugs. Also any feedback on cymbalta? I know everyone is different but it would be appreciated if anyone can talk about these meds.

Hi Hope, I had trouble getting off Effexor but it is doable. I was on Cymbalta and my only issue with that was that if you drink it can really be bad for your liver, so I got off that. But Effexor worked pretty well for me in spite of the brain zaps that it caused if I was late with a dose, so I may go back to it. Right now I am on Wellbutrin and it's not doing anything for me at all. Celexa I have also been on but I seem to develop too high a tolerance for some of these meds and have to ultimately switch to something new. No bad side effects but they can be hard to discontinue.
