I just screwed my Associates degree up good...still sick

I started my Associates degree back up at the end of April 2009. Well a few days after that I got really sick with a good whopper of a cold and I still have it...gurrrr

I am feeling really sad now. I think I should not have been rushed to get things in on the date they wanted which was only 2 weeks from the time the school called me. Well they dis-enrolled me from the classes and school totally now and my financial aid went out the window..... I should be freaking out but I just don't care anymore. I am sick and I don't like to do anything when I'm sick in anyway shape or form.

I'll just have to concentrate on my 4.0gpa student, (son).. He's almost 17 1/2 years old next month. He's the most important thing/person in my life right now.

Hi Hara,

I am glad that you are focussing on your son right now. That is so important. I know that you are disappointed that you got sick and couldn't do school yourself. But you will be able to give it another try. Maybe now wasn't the right time.

I am glad that you son is doing well. Are you still sick? It could be allergies. Many times when a cold seems to last this long, it is allergies instead. Check it out with your doctor.

Yes, I am still sick and for now I'm taking Zertec 24 hour for my allergies. No I have a very bad cold that seems to keep hanging on. I ended up in the ER last week because I was dehydrated. My only intent at that time was to keep my blood sugar up because I'm a diabetic also. I was going through my cupboards and found some original Sudephed in the red and white box so I figured I would take a couple and see if I was ok on it. Well I slept all day and woke up to find my blood sugar was 66 and I couldn't hardly focus to get to the bathroom.  But yes I am still sick and I'm not taking those other Sudephed because of what they did and I got some funny ideas in my head to...that was just NOT exceptable thinking for me.

Hara,

I hope that you feel better soon. A cold shouldn't last this long, maybe you should see your doctor, there might be something else going on. Maybe with your sugar problems, your immune system could be compromised.

hi hara, yeah had a similar exp at uni 8 yrs ago, became so unwell that i cracked up at uni, in lectures i became very psychotic and delusional. after reducing my subjects to nothing, and defered for a yr i was informed that i lost my spot. well i am studying again, not a degree, cert 4 in a related subject to my background an subsequent desires, and yep loving it. my shrink put me on a disability pension b4 i left uni, yeah i was really unwell, albeit i am fightin' back.

you are darn important too, esp to your son, and to your own recovery!! sorry u are feelin' sad, sending compassion and luv to you hara.

I've already seen my doctor. Plus I only go see him now if I reeaally need to. I do not like the way he is handling my care. My son takes better care of me than he does and my boy is only 17.  And I have an ER to go to also if I need it.

I just have a runny nose now.

HARA - I don't mean to sound harsh. I'm sorry. I've been dumped on by a few doctors and I am getting to the point where I don't trust any but the one Dr. I work with. I wish I could see her but she doesn't take my insurance.

Hi Hara, can you ask around to friends or others you know if they have a good dr. they like?  Maybe you can find a new one.  Also, you can call you health ins. co and ask who is on their list of drs. they will pay for.  Your cold sounds like more than a cold.  It has stayed on a long time.  You could possibly have bronchitis and would need an antibiotic for that to clear up.  Anyway, I hope you will find a dr. that can help you so you can feel good again.  And I think it is wonderful that you have such a great son.  You can eventually go back to school at another time when it is right for you.  Take good care and post again so we know how you are.

It makes me mad and sad that I messed things up for myself with my school and being $20,000 in debt with student loans doesn't help matters.

I've already called my ins. company and asked about DR's women dr's only. Not that I don't trust men dr's but I have woman things I need done from time to time. They gave me 6 names. I'll call them here and ask questions around the end of the month when my C-Pap machine gets here.. I can't wait. Maybe I will have some energy after a while from being on the machine.

No, I don't have bronchitis I have Whooping cough. I had Whooping before and it took forever to get off me...LOL I do have some cough med. to help a little, what little it does help is a good thing... hehehe

hara, i owe roughly the same, here in australia we have hecs, higher education contribution scheme, that is when i start working and start earning around 28k a portion will come out of my wages until payed of. hope the c-pap helps, can be a little hard to find the balance in the beginning. my former partner who passed in 2006 was using one for severe sleep aponea. before that i would stay up all night to wake ger a bit to start breathing again. hoping u are feeling better soon. luv and healings to ya. jamie
