Hi
I just came across this site I have been looking for someone to talk with other than family sometimes it's easier .
I suffer from depression as well Im currently taking Lexapro and Wellburtin my dr just added Abilify to my usual meds. They started not working so we deicided to try this so far it seems to be starting to work. I really just need encouragement when I try and talk to family I feel like im just complaining and they don't care there is never any encouragement . It's bad enough I can't even talk to my mom she has gone through so much medicial wise that I dont want her worrying about me . Anyway that's that. I look foward to hearing replies

Hi im new here too im going through the same thing at my house i have to worry about everyone else that i dont worry about myself i've had depression since i was five and im 14 now and its kinda been getting better since i've been busy theres many things you can do the best thing i do is go for a walk get my mind off of things... if you need to talk about depression or anything just let me know

hi c and welcome to the hw forum. sorry about your situation. good for the abilify, helps with the thought and cognitive process. been on it. keep true, honesty with yourself and the doc will aid you greatly. yeah, sad when ya down that family will not talk, i am sure that when you are a little better things ill evolve themselves with the communication process. stay strong, we care. jamie

Welcome to HealingWell and we love new members so please know you have joined a great forum.

First of all please do not feel like you are "complaining"  You have a very real disorder and like many of us here, our families do not always understand mental health disorders as they cannot see the "disorder"

You will find lots of great threads so please take some time and read through them. I hope the addition of Abilfy to your meds will help you.

I am wondering how you like Wellbutrin?  Did you have any problems getting onto this med,  side effects?


Please know coming here is a wonderful and courageous step. You are voicing your fears so you know what they are.

Hey Everyone
Im glad to hear from you. Im so glad this week is almost over it's been a crazy one I can tell you that. A little more about me I have been married for 8 years and have 1 son who is 4 1/2 years old. I talk to my husband but you can only talk to them so much. Our marriage is kinda rocky as it is right now anyway but were tryin. A lot of it is the medicine has killed my sex drive completely (sorry if that's tmi) I feel like we are growing apart we never have time for each other anymore it's literally like having a roommate than a husband. Like I said we are working on it and the abilify is helping us some so im praying that it will get better there is just a lot ot fix and it takes time I know it's just hard. He's not real affectionate as it is which makes it harder cause I feel like he never wants to spend time with me even though I should know better cause that's just the way he is it's just hard. Does anyone know what Im talking about?
Ok enough of that it has just been a very tough year for my family we just about lost my mom who I am very close to due to heart failure. It's started out in the begining with breast cancer she beat that then 6 months latershe ends up with heart failure from a drug that is in the chemo they treated the cancer with it tore up her heart bad she mow is on a pump called a LVAD it assists her heart in pumping with out it she would not be here it is a miracle she is still alive as it is. Just recently she found another lump on the same side her cancer was and the dr's say they are pretty sure it's cancer again she has an appt around the eighth of the month to find out how bad and what to do. Im really scared I think about her all the time and worry. My mom is my very best friend and I love her so much.
Now since I have poured my heart out here. I guess I will go for now. I have been taking the wellbutrin for some time now I don't remember having any bad side effects with it just the low or no drive and im not sure if that this or the lexapro causing that. So far it has been good though I didn't have any problem getting on to it and I now take 300mg of it.
Ok seriously gotta go I have to get ready for our book study and ministry school tonight. I will check back later. Crystal :)

Hi Crystal,

I am so happy that your mom is still with you. It sounds like you two are very close. You are lucky to have that relationship with her. Though I am sorry to find out that they found another lump.

It must be very hard for you at times. And I am sorry that your husband isn't more supportive, but I guess everybody is different and maybe he shows affection in another way. I am sure that he loves you dearly.

I am glad that you are taking the abilify. I take it and it has worked wonders for me. I really like the way that it helps me to feel. I worry less and I don't dwell on things like I use to. It is a mood stabilizer for me and I feel lucky to have been able to try it. I found something that works.

I hope that you have a good night and continue posting. Take care. Think positive and try to stay in the moment. That is another thing abilify is good for. Keeping you in the moment.

Thanks for the support guys I really do appreciate it I think maybe being on here having somewhere to write and people actually listen is gonna help. Im so glad it's the weekend the past week was hard my boss at work is mean well actually she isn't really even the boss she is filling in until they find some one anyway she is flat out mean She gripes about everything and makes you feel 2 inches high. Our owner is coming in a few weeks so im hoping that she will help and the other lady won't be so bad. Ugh! She is so mean. She wouldn't even let me have Friday off and it was my nephews graduation in Houston I really wanted to go, She said she was sorry but I don't believe her I don't think she is sorry about anything she does. So i had to miss his graduation. it's ok though my nieces is this week up here so I already planned just to call in that day im not gonna take another chance on being told no and missing another one.
So far im doing good the abilify is helping and the fact that I started helps too I was very late due to all the stress lately I was kinda freaking out about that too but I went and took two pg test just to make sure both negative whew! I just don't want another child at least not right now anyway.
Well it's Sunday morning and I am up at 7 I have no idea why I just woke up and now I can't go back to sleep oh well Im gonna have to get ready for church anyway in about an hour. Im the type of person that when I get woke up it's very difficult to go back to sleep. Ok well I think I have rambled long enough (lol). I had better run I have a cat who thinks he is starving all though he is huge all ready he will come in the room and sit and stare im sure he is thinking "HELLO" feed me. Take Care Everyone. Crystal

does it ever get better my cell phone is cut off until we get the bill paid. our water heater is broke so we have no hot water and our carpet in that area of the house is soaked, and to top it all off my acct is in the negative and I can't fix it until I get paid monday by then it's gonna cost me 109.00. Im so not happy right now I had to scrounge around for change tonight just for gas.I can't tell my husband about my acct. he will get mad at me and right now I really don't want anymore crap. Im just so irritated. mad Im gonna find out what the hold up is as to why my dear husband has not called the land lord yet about the water heater I need hot water and dry carpet. Im still tryin to figure out how to give my son a bath I guess I can always warm water for him and I guess I will just freeze. At least he will be warm. Ok enough gripeing. Crystal cry
