Hi all, I'm new to this forum of healing well. I have been feeling my depression creeping back in lately. I guess it is time to up my Lexapro. I have an on again off again history of depression. Lately it seems to be triggered by circumstances with my children - I have three kids, two of which have chronic illness which weighs so heavy on me that sometimes I don't know how I will cope.
I think it doesn't help that the days are getting shorter and we have had alot of cloudy day lately - that really seems to effect me. Also, this has been a tough year for us economically with my husband now at 1 year of 35-40% pay cut. We also (so far anyway) have endured the threat of layoffs. The thought of losing medical insurance for my kids scares me to death!!
Just thought I would pop in and say "hi". I saw a post below with some great ideas that I might try to incorporate to try to get out of this before I get too low as the holidays are right around the corner<sigh>!!
Thanks for listening!!

Hi Julie,
I too hope that you don't lose your health insurance. I am sorry that they have chronic illnesses. And I hope that things do work out for you.
I would like to welcome you to the HealingWell depression forum. I hope that you can use this as a sounding board and get some ideas, as you said that you have already read some. That is wonderful.
It is hard with the days getting shorter, though I love the actual days during this season. The colors are just starting to change here and it is very pretty. So I try to focus on the good stuff. There is something cozy about
this time of the year to me and it brings back a lot of memories. So I hope that you can learn to enjoy it. Have you tried taking vitamin D3? It really helps, I take up to 3000iu each day when I am suffering with SAD. I hope that you try it and that it helps. It is cheap too.
I hope that times for you get better. Keep trying, that is all that we can do.
Hugs, Karen
