I was on my way home from Physical therapy today, when I pulled around a truck..
well this truck proceeds to follow me, changing lanes, I even turned once without my signal
and he kept following so I pulled over and he pulled over, I called my Husband and he told
me to go to Krogers
at Kroger's I had the pharmacy call the police, after about an hour and 1/2, I made it home with a police
escort. this is the first time this has happened to me and well it has my anxiety up so high and
I'm still scared,
What would y'all have done? I know with this person following me I wasn't going home
and I knew they we're not following cause of something wrong with my car, had my tires checked over the weekend
and it's a newer car and my doors we're all closed. geezee my anxiety is going for a big loop on this..
any advise would be appreciated..

Hi Chartreux,

Wow, that is scarey. I think you did absolutely the right thing. And I hope that you never see that person again. I don't know what I would have done in that situation. But I think you used good judgement.

Try to write down everything that you can remember about the vehicle. Just incase you run into him again. Hopefully you wont. Try not to worry about it. That will just cause you stress. Just know that you did all the right things and that you are safe now.

you did exactly what i would have done.  at least this person is gone and did not find your home. well done. very brave and calm under pressure. obviously the adrenalin was pumping thus under the circumatances you did real good. jamie scool   proud of ya.

but I will be scared for awhile to say the least...
I sure hope no one else has to go thru this..

definately. i fully understand, had some moments like that in the past. keep busy, thus it will leave you more easily. definately easier said than done. i know! we are here for ya. jamie.

Well done on keeping a cool head in a tough situation. Handled very well. My dad is a truckie and sadly you get the odd few who wreck it for the others by intimidating people 'cos they can'.

Sounds like my dad...when people cut him off or almost make him get in a car accident he will follow them and tell them that they need to learn how to drive or get off the road, it may of been something as simple as that (my father is a retired cop and he still thinks he is the police lol and now he has a perfessional office job but he still acts like a cop). It really embarrasses me. I remember this one time when I was a teenager this girl for no good reason started punching me in the head and the cops couldnt find her that night. Well a few months later I ran into her at a store and I told me dad that was her (the cops never found her and their was a warrent out for her arrest still) and when she realized I spotted her she took of with her friend and her friend's father and my dad followed them til they finally pulled over and my dad got in a arguement with the friend's father and we took down the license plates number and called the cops and told them where they where as we contined following them and they tried to lose us but it didnt work and the cops finally came and arrested the girl and the friend's dad cause he was trying to help hide the girl from the police.

But I'm sure you havent punched any random people lately, but you prolly just ticked him off for some odd reason that you didnt realize, or atleast I hope it was something like that and not some kidnapper/murderer.

Hi Charteux, I think you did the right thing by going to a populated place and calling the police. In this type of situation that is the best thing to do. Always go to a place where there are a lot of people or go right to the police station. I know this must be very upsetting. If it happens to you again try to get a license # or remember anything you can about who is following you. If you have a camera phone try to take a picture. You were wise not to go to your home. I hope you are feeling better. Always make sure you drive in well populated areas if you are out at night. Also do you have pepper spray to keep with you? I always carry some just in case. Please take care and I hope you will get over this and not let it stop you from doing the things you need to. If someone strange or nasty is driving near or next to me I never look at them or give any indication that they are bothering me. Its best not to give anyone a reason to show their "road rage."

when I passed him, he was going a lot slower than the posted speed and I passed him doing under the speed limit and I concentrate on the road and didn't
make eye contact and gave no reasons for him to follow me. But I'm grateful it's over, I just had some biopsyies done today(8 stitches) and I'm sore
thanks for all your support and hugz back...I just don't know if I'll be able to go to physical therapy again, it was a safe place for me
and well now that's gone, for now...

I did have a hard time sleeping last night due to this and hope tonight will be better...my hubby got me a cat book, I like kitties...

I am just glad that you are okay. And I hope that soon you will be able to feel safe in your home and wherever you are. That must of felt creepy. I am glad that it is over and that you are okay.
