Hi everyone, I haven't posted in some time and wanted to give an update on my situation. I am scheduled to have my surgery this Mon. Oct. 19th. I am having a colon resection and will probably be in the hospital a week, shorter if my body can heal quicker, i'm sure hoping. I had a colonoscopy today and all is well in that respect. Awful prep as i'm sure many know. I am not looking forward to being in the hospital again as last Aug it was such a bad experience. But at least I know what will be happening and I can bring my personal belongings, books etc. And I now know that they have a patient advocate so I have the phone # and will surely complain if I get such bad treatment again! I have managed to have a good positive attitude these past weeks and I think that is going to help me. My sons of course will be with me and taking good care of my dear sweet Ramone(my 14 yr old poodle.) I worry more about him than myself. I would love to hear from any of you and will post again when I get sprung from the place. Love to all.

Aurora, soooo good to hear from you!

Ive been wondering about your health. Im glad the colonoscopy was all clear and I sympathise with the prepping, lol. My last one was in 2004 and I didnt get off the toilet for about 24hrs prior! Now I am scheduled for another one, and an endoscopy in the next couple of weeks, so yucky prep drink it is!

You sound really positive and I am so glad your surgery is going ahead and I pray that you recieve a speedy recovery and are healed by those who tend to you. Its great you have a patient advocate, you deserve only the best treatment.

I am glad your son is looking after your precious pet, that will take some of the strain away- please stay positive and remember you are so well loved here and cared for and I really pray that something good happens, cos frankly- I think you need a break from all this.

Keep us posted, you are a valued member and you are never far from my thoughts- sending healing ((((hugs)))))) from down under,

Take care & feel better. I do know what you mean about the prep -- but hang in there, you'll make it.

Do bring whatever will make you more comfy in the hospital -- music, books, snuggly pajamas, etc.

Hi Aurora,

So glad that you posted. I know all about those scopes. Glad that part is over. I had one this summer and glad it is over.

I hope that everything goes well in the hospital and that you get the best treatment. Keep posting as you can. We are all thinking about you.

Aurora:  I'm sending LOTS of good luck and get well wishes your way.  I know you must be nervous but it sounds like you have such a positive attitude going in.  I wish I could be closer to help you, but it sounds like your 2 sons have everything under control.   I don't know if this is allowed, but is there someway we could get either your hospital or home address to send you cards? 

....and thank you for all your concern and support on my postings.   It has really helped as I keep wading through my own situation.

Good luck again and I'll be praying for you tomorrow.

To Each and Everyone of you dear friends, Thank you so much for your kind words, thoughts and especially your prayers.  You make me feel stronger and cared about so much.  I am doing well, trying to focus on all the little necessities I want to have with me at the hospital such as a discman, toiletries, books. My colonoscopy was successful, and am grateful for that. I am probably going to be more anxious later today but I am coping fairly well. Just can't wait to get it all over with so I can eat again! Would give anything for a salad. Cass, it is so sweet of you to want to send me a card. If you go into chat I can give you my email address and we can correspond that way if you would like. I will look for you. How about noon today, which is CDT my time.

In case I don't see other posts from members please know I am grateful for all your replies. I may not get back on to see them but when I return I will respond to you. I don't want to leave anyone out to give you thanks.

Hoping you are recovering well and just wanted you to know you are in my prayers.  My husband has had 3 resections so I know some of what you are going through.

Please know that your friends here in HW are all cheering you on and supporting you so when your up to it please do let us know how you are.

You are a special lady who has been through so much and yet you continue to keep up your good attitude and always have a kind word for all.
