JD68-ECT on the horizon, a continuation

You are right Karen....I will probably go I could never leave him alone in a time like this in spite of his treatment of me. It just sucks that he thinks he can treat people like that and not have any "punishment" perse for it.

I bought a nice wine and am going to have a bite to eat with my in-laws in a bit and then will likely light some candles.....pour some wine and chill with my dogs. Thank you so much for responding .......it's so funny that even though we have never met personally nor anyone else on here for that matter you get to know one another so well.......What a blessing.

Off in a bit to get something to eat......last bite was about 730am this morning.....and then relax before trying to sleep for the night.

I knew this would be a trying week but I had no idea........

Hey all-

The first treatment went very well.......They had hard time putting him under I would guess the anxiety helped that. After the treatment his blood pressure and pulse were quite high and his O2 sat low.......they had him on oxygen for about an hour and everything improved. When he completely woke up he remembered going into the treatment room, who was there, what happened(except for the time he was under) etc. He passed all cognition tests with flying colors and essentially had a huge relief about him that all was well. His pulse did elevate once again when he was going to shower.....they thought he was likely a bit dehydrated so he drank lots of water and was doing well. His only "side effects" as of now besides the above......he had a slight headache on a scale of 1-10 he rated it a 2. He said his head hurt more when he bit down......I am sure from clenching his jaw........and he said his overall muscles hurt. Other than that.....he was fine. I will head back up tomorrow to visit ....JUST me.....I love his family but we have not had any time to ourselves in weeks to just talk. I was going to work tomorrow at the office but he asked if I would please come up and see him. I am exhausted so that's the plan. He can go out so maybe if the weather holds we can go outside for a walk. Would probably make his day there without a treatment go a bit better. Then friday back up for an 8am treatment and once his has recovered he will come home and we will do outpatient treatments from there....m-w-f next week and the following,m-w after that and then reevaluate. So he will definitely have 10...likely 12 total. So that's that....I feel SOOOOOOO much better having one under our belt and having it go so well. I will continue to hope for the best for the rest. Oh and he is having bi-lateral.......Jamie you had asked me that.

After one bad day a half way decent one emerged!! Many longs roads left though.

I am so happy that his treatment went well.  I can imagine that he would be sore in his muscles.  But you have one under your belt.  I imagine that the rest will be easier as you will know what to expect.  Each time will be a little easier than the last, I am sure.  You are being strong for him and that is wonderful.  Just being there I am sure makes it better. 

Keep us posted on how everything goes.  We are here to support you through this.

Thank you all!! I am hoping it continues....he said a bit ago he feels a bit confused as if his brain got shook......the nurse (whom I think is wonderful) stated that..."well it did"......but he is well. He was going to watch the world series and did not answer my return call which means that is the most important thing right now That is a good thing!!!

I am going to have a bite to eat, again nothing since this morning and snuggle with the dogs. No work tomorrow......thought I would but hubby asked that I come up......he can leave so maybe we can go to a restaurant nearby and grab a sandwich for lunch and just chat.........1 down at least 9 to go.

It sounds like your hubby is doing a lot better and like you are feeling better too.  For that, I am so happy.  You deserve this break.  Finally...  You have stuck by him through thick and thin.  I am so proud of you!  You are a good wife.  This will come back to you someday.  Somebody will be there for you when you need it.

I am glad that he is watching the world series.  My husband is too, but he switches back and forth between programs.  He always does that.  Then he gets to watch two things at the same time. lol...

Thank you for letting us know the good news.  Keep posting so we know what is going on with you and your husband.

Best wishes for a good night snuggling with the dogs.  Mine are sleeping on the love seat.  That is their bed.
