Pdoc wants me to start talking this, as needed. I have read about it etc... but I would like opinions from real people!

So, if any of you are taking it, please share your story, good or bad and let me know what you think of it?

Im nervous about taking it the first time because I do not know how it will effect me so.... I would appreciate your stories.

I was on it for a short while -- but for a type of seizure disorder. Only side effect I had was that it made me sleepy -- maybe you'll be okay on it, but please don't drive or anything for a few days until you know how it will affect you. I would say for me it was similar to Lyrica, but the Klonopin helped more with the anxiety but also made me sleepier than the Lyrica (though that could have been due to the ability at the time to get a smaller dose of Lyrica than of Klonopin). I've also had it mixed in to a topical compound gel & I tolerated that very well. I would have stayed on the topical, but it wasn't covered by insurance.

I am not familiar with this medication, but I read about it a little. And it doesn't say a whole lot other than you may build up a tolerance within three months and the doc might have to up your dose. I hope that it works well for you. Let us know how it goes. And thank you Frances for the information. That is interesting that it comes in a gel.

Hi there,

I take clonzepam now and have been on it for 5 years, they put me on it for seizures, I had no side effects at all. Know wait make sure U take it at bed time because it will put u out, I would take it an 1 hour later and my husband said I wouldnt hear anything!!!

I've taken clonazepam on and off for the past couple years. I haven't had any side effects from it. Basically, when I'm really anxious, I take it and just feel calm. It's not a drugged feeling though, which is why I continue to take it. I just feel at ease and less anxious. It is supposed to also last longer in your system, unlike xanax. My dr said the benefit is that it doesn't just rush into your system, but works over time so you feel better for a longer amount of time. Is your Dr wanting you to take it for anxiety attacks?

Just took my 1st dose of Clonozepam. I was a bit scared and only took .25 of a .50mg tablet. I have to "sneak" up on any new drug I am given by my doctor. I did really well with my aniexty for a short bit but it hit me again. I can't stand it!

Though I have to wonder if I will feel the effects being that I am on a butt load of pain meds. I also take Vicodine, Skelxtin, IBU and Ativian.

I remember getting Clonzepam in the hospital when I had my surgery, I just remember it made me sleep pretty darn hard.

Clonazepam(klonopin) does work well for anxiety. Although I do want you to be aware of some things. It is a very powerful drug. If taken regularly your body will become addicted. That's okay if your going to take it for long term. Your body can also after awhile make it less effective. This can happen to many. Biggest of all is DON'T take too high of a milligram!! Some doctors just up the dose to make you feel better without thinking of the consequenses. Too high of a dose will make you like a drug addict. It will seem like you can never get enough. I would recommend never going above 4 mi. daily and that too me is too high. Even when my dr. wants to up my dose and I know it will help(for a while) I will not go over 2mi. a day. If you can only use it when absolutely necessary that is best. I take Klonopin for seizures(1mi. a day) and on rare situations will take another during the day for my anxiety. Please take this info seriously cause I have seen too many people go through the effects of a too high dose. As much as I suffer from severe anxiety I always have to remember that there is no "miracle drug". We also have to learn to help it ourselves by different ways.
