Hi Emily,
Let the doctor know that you think that you are depressed. Let them know how you feel. Things that you feel aren't right. If you are having trouble sleeping, eating. If you are tired all the time, or have lost interest in things.
You are lucky that your mom is there for you. Not all of us have had that. It is good to have a good source of support. Being depressed isn't fun, and going it alone is even worse. Accept her interest in your well being.
