Hi,

I have been on Cymbalta 60 mg for about 9 months and my doc recently added Wellbutrin 300 mg. My doc and I tapered my Cymbalta dose down and I have been "clean" for about 2 weeks. At first I didn't notice any difference, but now my depression is awful. I wonder if the Cymbalta was helping or if my oxycontin is causing the change.

I really don't want to go back on the Cymbalta (I'm on 9 prescription medications!) but I will if necessary. Any thoughts or experiences to share?

I dont have much info, but wanted to let you know I am on both. just added wellbutrin to my cymbalta and abilify. I started it today. will let you know if anything happens It appears you can be on both

Hi Merrygirl,

I also have Lyme and am hypothyroid (hence the 9 medications). Let me know how the drug combo works for you. I think I will go back on Cymbalta to see if it helps. Can't get worse.

Narcotics do depress you. They depress the whole nervous system. But it does sound like the cymbalta was working. I also take abilify and it works well. It is a mood stabilizer.

cymbalta was slow to start, went on 60mg straight up-8 months ago, about a month ago went to 120mg. definately helping. even though i am still depressed, it is still helping. all the best. ps, at one stage in my life i was on 28 different meds!! yeah i rattled when i walked!!!! with compassion, jamie. would reinstate it.
