i went on topamax 2 years ago due to depression and anxiety problems i had. I was up to about 300 milligrams until two months ago when i finally got off of it cold turkey. I noticed while on the drug i lost 40 pounds and i seemed to have more confidence. Usually i would get anxiety going to new places, meeting new people. But on topamax i felt invincible. Now here is my question. The past few weeks I have been feeling depressed and getting my anxiety back, I don't want to see my friends or leave the house at all. Also I have always been a very confident person but the past few weeks i have hated everything about me. I think i'm fat because i gained 30 pounds back and everything is just falling apart. I was wondering if going back on topamax would help or do you think this is something else i'm going through. I'm going to the doctors on monday and any input would really help me.

Hi r0xygirlx88,

It really sounds like the topomax was helping you. If I were you I would talk to the doctor about going back on it, or something similar. Why did you go off? I have done that before, thinking I dont' need the medication and then having to go back on.

I hope that you feel better soon. I would let the doc know what is going on. Sounds like a wise decision to me.
