Hi! I'm new here. I just lost my husband who walked away from me for being depressed. With that went my business, my house, etc. I'm an introverted yet nice girl who has just had trouble trusting people who constantly leave me or expect me to just "get better" - I don't have insurance so I don't know how to get help here in Florida. I just wondered if anyone had issues like insomnia, waking up nervous or feeling like there is no point to anything, feeling like you have no friends and yet you feel normal, just sitting around your room wondering what to do with yourself and finding it really hard to just get up. I would love a counselor but they are so expensive and I don't work given my condition now. I just wanted to reach out and see if anyone felt the same way. How do you get through the lonley nights and days without resorting to mingling with less than moral people if you know what I mean? I've turned to the Internet to make friends but they've ended up being disasters! Oh dear, thanks for this board. I hope to get to know you all better.  Much blessings!! Lesa

Welcome to the HealingWell Depression forum. I have suffered with all of the above. Have you thought about getting in touch with the department of human services? They will help you with a lot. Especially if you can't work. You can get help with prescriptions, doctor visits and even a food card. Sometimes they give you money for rent and other things. I would consider it if I were you. Some people hate to ask for help, but sometimes you have to.

I know that feeling of not wanting to get out of bed. It is all too familiar. I slept for two years with fibromyalgia and depression. Listened to life go on without me through my bedroom window. It was not a happy time. I was so exhausted all of the time. I finally got a doctor that gave me an adderall prescription and it really helps.

There are a lot of mental health facilities that will work on a sliding scale and even some prescription manufacturers that will help you get affordable meds. So that is something to look into also.

I hope that you can find the help that you need. But in the meantime, keep posting and we will be here to support you.

I will be praying for you! You can do all things throught Christ who can strenghten you. Look only at today and know I will keep you on my heart. Been divorced and had breast cancer with 2 kids. I reached out to God and Have been Blessed beyond understanding. Keep Faith.

yeah Hi Lesa! Sorry you're feeling so down. I (like Karen) have dealt with depression most of my life. I can remember 6 yrs. ago when I taped black trash bags over my windows. Thank God I've finally found peace. I suffered a fall last Jan. I had spinal cord surgery and was paralyzed for 2-3 weeks, I also stayed in a nursing time over 5 months. I got my apartment July 1. Three mo. after my surgery I was diagnosed with RSD. Every day I am so thankful just to be able to walk and just do ordinary things. In the past I went for counseling-it was really wonderful just to vent. Please take care of yourself! Just know we at HW care about all our members! May God bless you. Donna eyes blush
