Sometimes anxiety causes you to think that people are judging you and staring at you for no apparent reason. You just have to keep reminding yourself that this is your mind playing a number on you and it isn't real.. Or maybe people really are staring at you because you're just that awesome! :) Either way, try to overcome this feeling by being confident, and sure of your abilities. Don't worry what other people think of you; you're you- a unique, unafraid individual. :)

Hi Zeekie,
Welcome to the forum. I think you feel like people are staring at you. I know I have been through that before. But you are a unique individual and you are worthy. So keep posting, we will help you figure this out.
Take care,
Hugs, Karen

Hey there,
I think they may be staring because you're a beautiful unique snowflake and you interest them in some way. Maybe they like the colour of your hair or your clothes.
I used to get this a lot, panicking like crazy because I was sure I must have looked funny or was doing something wrong. When I began to ignore the staring I thought I saw it went away. Now however people perhaps have more reason to stare as I'll happily sit anywhere at all-bus, train, college, hospital and either knit or crochet as that stops my over-thinking sometimes and keeps me out of trouble. They don't though, noone has ever said anything which has perhaps boosted my confidence a bit.
I won't say it's all in your head, because I hate feeling like people think that about me. But, I will say, perhaps people are looking because they find something attractive that pleases them or maybe they are glancing a something behind you and it's just unfortunate timing that where you are stood at that moment means it looks like they are staring at you.
I hope this helps some and as Karen says, do keep posting as I'm sure there have been many that have felt a similar way that could help you.

I would say "hi" and see what happens. I know when I am feeling that way, I think people are staring at me too. But I realized that was in my mind. But I usually have a smile on my face, so people smile back. I think once you are feeling better, it wont bother you as much.
Best wishes for a wonderful day.
Hugs, Karen

I'd agree with getting by, just say "hi" and see what happens. If they are interested in you in a good way, hehe ice is broken, if they have some other issue then it is exposed to the light. If its not interest they will either tell you the issue or say it's nothing and stop staring at you. I have dealt with this a lot, hehe, back in gradeschool I was quite hefty, lol, and I'm sure I got looks for that. As I grew up I started growing out my hair(over 2ft now), and I'd always think people looked at me in a bad way because of that(and some might have been). Hehe but in the recent past, I've been coming to find that I had been misinterpreting the looks for a long time, at some point it changed from bad to good. So you never know, don't think the worst. If they do have a problem for no reason, feel sorry for them that they are so ignorant/shallow/generally intellectually challenged enough to look at you oddly because they found a difference and can't figure it out in their woefully underpowered brains ;) But never assume the worst, it usually is not that. If you assume the worst about people's assumptions/inner thoughts about you then you will cut yourself off from many an opportunity and be cutting the legs out from under your own confidence. I am surly no confidence spokesperson, but there is a certain amount that is good and healthy to have (which I myself have never maintained). I hope my ranting helps a bit :)
