It hurts....

There is no way that you are going to find out for yourself if it is love if you don't put yourself out there.  Yes it is hard getting hurt, but it is a part of life.  We have to experience these things in order to live.  I know that it doesn't sound so good at this moment, but we have to esperience these feelings in order to have a relationship. 

Getting hurt sucks, I know.  But as they say, it is better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all.  Take the risk.  Experience life.  If it doesn't work out, you learn from it.  If it does work out, that is all the better for you.  You will never know if you don't try.

If your friend knows you at all, she is going to see you are depressed. It is hard to hide depression....we think we are doing a great job, but our eyes look sad, maybe we are less talkative, etc. So I don't think it will be any big surprise when you talk to your friend. Try very hard to approach her with no big expections (like, this time she will understand), because the more you try to predict the outcome, the more you are setting yourself up for further disappointment and hurt. But I agree with Karen...you need to put it out there. And once you know where you stand, you can start getting on with your life accordingly. Good luck and somewhere inside of you is some courage...well, it is time to dig it out.
