I am a 20 yr old mother of 2. My boyfriend of 5 years has just moved out because we both decided we couldnt work anymore. Im living in an apartment that he is paying for ( only because his name is on the lease and he couldnt move out unless i stayed becuz of the lease contract) He is now refusing to pay bills..i have put in like 200 applications and have not gotten called back. Where i live has currently become unsafe ( a random drunk guy showed up at my apartment at 5:30am naked and forced his way into my home) I am trying to figure out a way to get a place with the little bit of money i have. I just want my kids to be safe. All of this going on is making me miserable. I need some sort of help...even if i could just get some phone numbers of places that might be able to help. Im not suicidal or anything. Im just extremely unhappy right now and need help getting my life back on track. Thanks

Hi Proud mom,

Welcome to the HealilngWell depression forum.  Have you contacted the department of human services?  They will help you find a place, give you a food card and medicaid.  Plus money.  I would contact them first and see if you are eligible for help.  I am sure that you are especially since you have two children. 

You will have to try to get child support from the childrens father.  That money goes to the state to help you out.  There is no reason that you should be stuck where you are and unhappy.  Give the department of human services a call.  Also your local church might help you too.
