Job Search Stress

Hi Frances,

I am sorry that things are going so hard for you right now.  It sucks having to iron clothes as it is and then to have your iron go out.  And I know about the hot water situation.  I use to get so mad when I would heat water for dishes and then it would go down the sink.  Bummer.  Then you got to go through it all over again.  I guess that is one of the little things, that many people take for granted.  I still remember.  I use to have to wash my husband's work clothes out by hand.  Then iron them after they would dry.  I didn't have a washer or a dryer.  But I did have a scrub board.  And I still have it.  I actually used it.

I hope that you find a job that you like.  I am sure that you will find a job.  It seems awful difficult these days though.  It isn't like it use to be.  I miss the old days some times.  But I try not to dwell on the past.  I was younger and things were a lot easier then.  If you know what I mean... 

Keep on trying Frances, something good is going to happen I am sure.

Thanks Karen. It feels a little better to know that someone else has been through this. Gosh, I don't know how you did it with your fibro. Ouch. I couldn't move for 2 days after. Now it's time to wash my grimy hair again. I'm gonna try something different this time.

I'm just so drained. Actually, in IL we are adding a lot of jobs. There are finally opportunities out there. It's just tiring to keep writing resumes & cover letters and answer all kinds of dumb questions for all of them. But it's better than having no jobs to apply to. So I'm trying to change gears here & really move quickly to get out a lot of applications asap. But I am feeling a little bit better b/c if worse comes to worst at least there are some local store jobs to be had -- Help Wanted signs on almost every block.

I'm working on getting my self & my stuff organized so I can be better about being on time or a little early to work every day. Between depression, thyroid, pain ... not to mention a neuro condition that affect my perception of time -- I can read a clock but have a hard time guessing whether 5 minutes or 2 hours have gone by without one... I have a hard time in the morning. But I'm putting together a list of strategies & am also thinking about starting to go back to the local Chiari People support group in hopes that maybe some of them will have some strategies as well. As tired as I am, this seems like my best hope of finally pulling together a semblance of a life.
