Don't be down on yourself for this. And just do what you can do. I know how scarey it is when you are in financial difficulties. I have been there. Take this all one step at a time. Since you and your husband were cheated by a crook, I am sure that they will have some mercy on your husband. But there is one thing you should remember. And that is that you can't get money out of a rock. And it will always be that way. They will probably come to some agreement that wont be all that bad. It is only money after all. Which seems like a lot. But it isn't like a person. So try to relax and just let it happen. I am sure it is a relief that you don't have to be there. So get some rest and try to be there for your husband after the hearing.

I went to court proceedings and such over a credit card. The company didn't even show up because it wasn't worth it to them, but we had three procedures before they threw it out. I settled with one company for almost half of what I owed, and one just left me alone. I couldn't believe that because it was the one that I owed the most to. I still have issues with a credit card machine company, but they are bothering me less and less and are running out of time to proceed with it. So I am happy there.

Like I say, it is only money and it isn't like you two broke the law or anything. Things just didn't work out as planned. You tried and that was the best that you could do. It will work out. You will most likely have some credit issues after this. But you will make it.

Oh the reason I didn't file bankruptcy is because I owned my home and they could have tried to take it. Put your faith in your attorney and your husband and be glad that you don't have to be there. One day at a time...

I am not saying you should be stronger, I just think you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. And try to relax. I know that it is hard. But you deserve a break. Is there anything that you like to do that you could pamper yourself with? You are probably thinking "what?" But you do deserve this, and it might make you feel better. Or maybe go for a nice walk. Is it a nice autumn day there? It is here. Or just stay in with some nice relaxing tea. Please don't be so hard on yourself. You didn't do this. It just happened. Just one bump in the road of life. Things will get better.
