about 2 hrs ago, I took my first citalopram, just 10 mg, bottom level dose.

Already dizzy, yawning, a couple of sweating outbreaks, and actually giddy.

I don't get it.  How can something with that low of a dose effect me like that in the first two hours?

I can understand the dizzy and yawning stuff as they are side-effects, but giddy???

I'm going to document very carefully this time around, that's for certain.

hey scythia, some new meds do make our bodies

chuck a wobbly almost straight away. i tend to get the

main ones immediately as well. dry mouth, vomiting,

dizzy, weird, etc. mine pass within 2 weeks. so the lithuim,

wow, it side effect city, and very bad ones, oh well no

gain without.......side effects!!! yes document, keep checkin'

in with your dr. sending healings your way. jamie.

I hope that this med ends up working well for you. Yeah, side effects suck. I dont' get them at the beginning, but when I am into a month or so in the medication. Very disappointing for me. But have since found good meds for myself. I hope that you do the same. Keep trying.

I just was shocked with how fast it happened last night.  don't remember that being as quick with my other start on ADs.

from what i have been reading, even though ADs fall into certain classes, that does not mean they all actually work the same, which is why the trial and error for any one person. 

jamie - yeah, add in the weird.  amazingly, i think i had one of the better sleeps last night - better than in a long time.

I will keep a very close watch, and i'll probably be posting here a  lot.

karen - i plan to stick with it - trying to find the med that works.

even though my new job is away, i will have internet access at the hotel, so i expect to have time to do a few things onlne.

We can never under estimate the power of these meds, even tho we do often scoff at them. I think your immediate side effects are a sign that this is a powerful thing. Just take it easy, don't get up or turn around quickly. If you're still sweating alot, make sure you are drinking a lot of water, if you're the sports drink type, maybe some electrolyte replacement, Gatorade.
New job? away? I've been away for awhile, will need to backtrack. Thats wonderful. Glad you didn't give up. Always darkest before the dawn, and then a glorious sunrise ! Nice when it actually happens that way.

Thought of you this morning when I staggered out of bed and said what the .....? I started Trazadone over the weekend, and it is kicking my ass.
Haven't been on meds for about 6 mos now, and with my upcoming trip, and the holidays, and the post trip let-down, figured it was time to do something. You know, going way, way, up, then back to ordinary, a little sadness, oh no, I'm spiraling out of control, afraid of hitting the bricks, ...I wish I would have started something a month ago !
I got sleep, glorious sleep, but had to laugh at the dizziness, unsteady feeling.

Hope the job is going well.
