Confused!! I dont know whether my abortion was successful or not!

Hi,

I underwent a medical abortion in August- 19 th August to be precise- i opted for the medical abortion as i wasnt sure i was strong enough to take the pain of a surgical abortion. Post the abortion, and after i stopped bleeding, I called my Gynac and asked her wat to do next... she asked me to follow up with her on the 31st of August to make sure everything went smoothly. Unfortunatley, i cldnt make it for the appointment and had to suddenly travel abroad after that. On the 8th of October i started bleeding and it lasted for five days. I thought everything was back to normal and the abortion was successful. I went thru the urine pregnancy test twice- once before 8th October 8th and one last week- they were both negative.

I cant understand why i havent got my periods this month- is it because of the stress- or do i need to get an ultrasound done?

PLEASE HELP-

these thoughts are driving me insane!

Hi Hope and welcome to the forum!

If two tests were negative, chances are that you are not pregnant. You may be late because you bled so much right afterwards. But if you are worried, see a doctor. That is the best recommendation that I can come up with. But I think that you are right, stress is involved and that can make you skip or be late.

I am sorry that you felt that you needed to get the abortion. But you did what was right for you at the time. And you are not to be judged here. Just be kind to yourself right now. I think some self nurturing is in order for you. Keep posting and know that we all care.

Try to reschedule another appointment if you can to make sure that everything is alright and that you are healthy. I think that would ease your mind.

Don't let this go, go see the doc. You're not pregnant, but something else is not right.
Its the only to know and get help with this kind of problem. Women have to tend to these things.
