does anyone know if deplin helps deter side effects of other medicines such as luvox and lexapro? i recently decided to come off of luvox because it was making me gain weight, but it really did wonders for my OCD. i want to be on the luvox without the weight gain. i wonder if deplin helps control that?

Hello and welcome to HealingWell,

Deplin is a "medical food" containing the active ingredient, l-methylfolate. From what I know of this medication it is weight neutral but it is not known for decreasing food cravings caused by Antidepressants. Of course others may have better information.

I do know it is very expensive and many insurance companies will not pay for this drug.
