Well lets see. I like someone other than my ex, but he's 19 years old. Not sure how to deal with that..

Besides that. My father says he is going to stop drinking, but he doesnt. My mother blames it on me like always. Dad is getting a new house for him self, but blew the 1,000$ on booze. Not sure how life will turn out for him, and that scares me.

hi tinkerbel, is there an age difference? my advice is to do what is right for you. what others do is out of your control, sorry about the situation with your dad. why does your mum blame you? not your fault, not one iota!!!! he has chosen to do this, this is his fault, he chose this. (drinking) sending healing compassionate thoughts your way. jamie

I hope that things go better for you. As Jamie said, this is not your fault. So don't believe that for one moment. People make a choice to drink, and it is their responsibility. I don't understand why your mother blames you. That is just wrong. Know that you are a good person and you have friends here.

Hi, Tinkerbell, I haven't talked to you in a while now.

I'm glad that you've recovered from the last boyfriend; that was difficult for you, as I remember. You made good strides in that effort,
and I hope you find the nineteen-year-old boyfriend to be more mature and consequently more kind and gentle and truthful. Very likely he will be. You know what to look for this time, don't you think?

Sorry about your dad; the members of the forum are right, though. It definitely isn't your fault, and your mother is misguided to think that it is all your fault. You'll need to work on that one a little before you understand that she may be covering some feeling of guilt herself about her husband and simply projecting it onto you. You'll need to be aware that she is revealing herself, not you.
