Topamax Side Effects

I have been on topamax 50mg twice/day for about 2 months and the altered taste sensation is so terrible that I'm ready to go off of it. It' initially was a godsend to me becasue it was the only thing that had taken away the head pressure of my almost daily migraines and it was such a a relief that I though I could deal with the hair thinning and the tingling sensations, even the fogginess. But nothing tastes right and it's just getting worse. Even water tastes bitter. I can't eat or drink anything and get pleasure. I'm always hungry and never feel satisfied so I just stop eating. I've thrown more food away even at restaurants. Even dry food like pretzels taste horrible, almost like garbage, I guess people describe it like a metallic taste, but I don't know, it just tastes bad. I always have to ask my husband if something tastes ok, because I can'tt tell. It could be spoiled for all I know. Has anyone else had this experience, and if so, does it go away eventuallly? If not,, I truly can't live like this. It's really depressing, moreso than the headaches. I'm new to this forum. I'd appreciate any input. Thanks.
