Hi, Beyond Creation, welcome to the forum, and keep posting to help us understand what you feel is wrong or missing in your life.
Please see a psychiatrist first and get a diagnosis and be placed on the proper medication for relief.
I'm the one who talks about diet so much in depression. So here are some ideas that may help bring your thinking into a calmer, more peaceful and content condition:
1. I was told never to drink anything with caffeine in it or to drink alcohol. They both make the illness worse.
2. Take your medications.
3. Get your rest.
In addition, there are foods to eliminate from your diet that will improve your feeling tone within a week: avoid white flour products, sugar, milk products. Eat more green vegetables and salads and less meat. Fish and lamb are better for you than beef and pork if you do eat meats on a daily basis. The reasoning behind this is that all these foods are highly acidic when being digested and are difficult for your system to manage when you are in depression. (The digestive process slows down when one is in depression.) Vegetables and salads are more easily digested and are alkaline primarily. The most desirable condition of fluids should lean toward the alkaline state rather than an acidic one. Include water as your primary drink and drink plenty of it. Try adding lemon to it to make it more palatable if you just don't like drinking water. Aspirin may help to relieve symptoms.
It takes about one week to begin to feel the beneficial effects of changing your diet. By the end of two weeks you should feel much stronger. Removing alcohol and caffeine from your diet may take longer to enhance your feeling tone, but it will improve if you omit these from your diet.
This is what I was told by my psychiatrist to do to help improve feeling tone.
Hope you are better soon and that you will take care of yourself.
