Celexa and Geodon

I just posted this in the anxiety forum. My psychiatrist just prescribed Celexa 20 mg/day and Geodon 40 mg/day. Does anyone have experiences with these? I tried wellbutrin for 8 weeks but it didn't do anything as far as I could tell. Thanks. I'm taking these for depression, anxiety, obsessive thinking (not OCD though), and anger issues.

I haven't taken either one of these. But I can relate to you on the obsessive thinking. I take abilify for that. It is a mood stabilizer, I am thinking that perhaps the geodon is for that. My friend takes celexa. She is suppose to take lexapro, but her insurance doesn't cover it so she takes celexa instead. I hope that these meds work for you. And remember even though you may feel better sooner, the meds can take six to eight weeks to reach their full potential. So be patient.

Did the doc ever think of giving you a higher dose of wellbutrin? Or did he just figure that it wouldn't work? Did you have side effects from it? I found it to be good because I could think clearer and had more energy on Wellbutrin, but I couldn't tolerate the side effects.

Thanks for the response, Karen. The doctor did not discuss giving me a higher dose of wellbutrin. I should have asked about that but I didn't think about it. I didn't have any side effects from it so that was awesome but I didn't notice any effect at all really.

I am taking celexa 20mg. Increased now to 40mg. I was doing well at first but then went backwards. Dr said could take a few more weeks to take full effect. No side effects. I sleep better too. Don't wake up every hour but do wake up earlier than I need to. Hope it works for you.
