Monica,
You definately aren't alone. There are so many people in your situation. I know that doesn't make things better, but we do understand where you are coming from. I lost my business (floral shop) due to fibro. Then I was in serious debt. Then I tried for disability but couldn't get it. But with the proper meds, I ended up going back to work part time for awhile. So there was a bright side to it all. But when you feel bad for not being able to do anything you tend to go on a guilt trip. Well, all that does is drain you. So rest while you can. Keep trying to find what it right for you with medications. I am sorry pristiq didn't work for you. I take it. But I take abilify with it. The abilify was a Godsend for me. It really helps my moods and it makes the pristiq work better. So that was a win win situation for me.
Don't punish yourself for not feeling good and not being able to contribute financially right now. Do get rest, but try to keep moving when you are up. Maybe even set up a sleep schedule for nighttime. Try to get out and walk a little. I don't know where you live but here it is beautiful with fall colors.
It probably wouldn't hurt to get some therapy. The therapist might even be able to help you with the short term disability that you are fighting for. Get documentation.
Write all your symptoms down too. When you see a doctor go over them all, even if they aren't bothering you at the time. I think we all tend to forget everything once we get to the doctor. I do, and I think it is because I get nervous. He will ask me how I am doing, I just say fine. I am so use to saying "fine". Becauwse most of the time I don't want to talk about it. So we put on a happy face and go about our way.
I sure do hope that you feel better soon. Keep posting. Can you still fight for the disability? If so, I would persue it.
As for the sadness. I think we all feel it from time to time. But feeling it all the time isn't right. So talking to somebody would help you there too. You have a right to be happy. Allow yourself that right. Get some help with your depression and the disability. Just a little rest could help, the cymbalta could take six to eight weeks. But it often helps with pain too. Plus depression.
Take care,
Hugs, Karen
