Good morning

I hear you stillme, my sister comes next week and I'm still not feeling that cleaning thing!!! I get my basics done and a couple of errands and then homework and dinner duty and I'm DONE!

Thank God she is orderly but not a neat freak and she just moved so is used to chaos-lol. I never did understand a house that didn't looklike someone lives there.

You would understand my house because it is totally lived in and a little cluttered. But we are getting there. Did a little remodeling this summer, so things are falling into place. My problem is dust. It is bad here and I can't figure it out. We put a new cieling in our living room, that has brought the dust down some. We have paved roads, so I don't know where it all comes from. Dust, dust, dust... That is all I do. Well, dishes once in a while. lol... Everyday of course...

I hope that you all have a great day. Weather here kind of sucks, Cold and damp. Not good for the fibro or arthritis. Taking extra D3 because of lack of sunlight. Feeling better.

Yes, the dust here too!!! When we first moved here we had dirt roads and lots of trees and pollen. Then they paved the roads-still dusty. I mean I could dust every day, not that i did...I HATE dusting, give me some dirty dishes or a mop. Then after Katrina we built an airtight house-it's STILL dusty. My husban said you can cut back on it by buying a really good filter for your HVAC, i have to clean the vents in each room they start getting dirty-sheesh!!

Well, think I'll do the dusting tomorrow . Believe me, it is not going anywhere. Having a bad pain day,makes me down but will see my new doc next week-thank you Lord

I vacuum and dust every single day. It gets tiring. I i can't keep up with iit. Even dust in the bathroom. My hubby says it is the old ceilings in here. I do notice a little less dust where they drywalled in n the living room, but thheer is still a lot. Think I need new batteies in my keyboard and mouse. Typing is getting difficult. I have wirelesss keyboard and mouse. I like it, but don't like changing batteries all the time. Well, it isn't all the time, but when they start to go out, navigating and typing is hard.

I am so excited that you have the pain management doctor next weeki. Anxious to see what he prescribes for you. I hope it is something that helps. There are many on the fibro forum that don't believe in narcotics, but that is what has helped me, and the only thing. I can keep my pain level at a 3 or 4 with them. I tried the malic acid, but it didn't help enough for me to keep ordering, though I do suggest it to others as it did help me some. And it helps others a lot. But it wasnt worth it to me. I will stick with my norco. I take many supplements too. Fish oil, vitamin D3 qand calcium. I get so sick of taking pills. But what can you do???

some of the "pain docs" here will not even prescribe narcotics for pain-WHAAAAT??

Hydrocodone with ibuprofen is my lifesaver too...I don't care what they say...I get my life back with those pills, not high but functional. This doc does prescribe nARcotics, but they do pill counts, urine tests etc...so invasive but it weedsa out the bad ones I guess. Epidurals have helped me also.

I'm taking magnesium, calcium multi vit but haven't tried the malic acid since I could not find it-too many pills

I did take my dog for a walk and it wasn't that bad out. At least it isn't raining today... But tomorrow it comes back. Yuck...

Ohhhh...we are having really high winds and it is freezing. It sounds like snowwwww somewhere in the air. With our house, they just did the grading of the land, just in time!

I am hanging in there. Hubby is still up and down.

Hope the high winds don't do damage. I remember when our house was being built, we live on the water and great horrendous storms every afternoon in summer and we would just stress out when we saw those black clouds rolling in....then if you are up to drywalling it has to be just right temp and floor adhesives, it goes on and on, doesn't it?

Hmm...I posted earlier but it's not here. Not sure how that happened...oh yeah, I was trying to post really fast cuz hubby was coming, or so I thought. I guess I must have closed the screen too soon.

Yes, so many things with the house build. We are past the point (I think) where weather is an issue, but it caused trouble, and yeah, the worry when it's not co-operating etc. You understand! I was thinking earlier tonight waht a huge accomplishment it is that you have your home, having built it alongside your not your husband alone, but his condition. Often I feel like dealing with my husband was much harder than the build itself. Oh well. Thank God it is almost over finally!

Oh, we didn't get any snow after all. It seems it was a chinook that came and blew out the cold front we were having. Yippee! It was very mild and almost warm this morning when I went out and we had a nice sunny day today.

Wow, I'm tired. I was at the house cleaning tonight.

Hope you feel better soon Maggie, pain wise. You are strong.

Hi Karen!! Maybe you guys will get the benefits of some of that chinook wind in a few days. I hope your weather warms up. Damp weather is not helpful is it.

Yes, sometimes I type a post and forget to hit submit button-lol and wonder where it went.

Building a home dealing w/ mental health issues is crrraazzzyyy!!! It is soo stressful anyway. I can't tell you the number of contractors hubby ran off or walked off due to disagreements etc. Like a guys soap opera-lol. I'mglad no damage was done...I know what high winds can do. We have been blessed with another calm hurricane season this year-it's because of el nino, la nina or something. It is incredible how stressed we all get here during hurricane season. Once burned, twice shy. I always say that when one starts coming our way, they should take crop dusters and spread xanax all over the county...our house is built to highest wind code in US so we hope and pray. It's odd before Katrina out little house was up about 12 feet off ground or 16 feet above sea level and I would say "well, if the water gets this high, new orleans would go under and that's just never happened.' and we'd laugh at hte notion. The water at our house hit 35 feet ebove sea level, a good 8 feet above the roof crest...it was so hard to wrap my mind around. Our porch furniture hung in 25 feet up in trees, as did some of the dead..they had to cut the trees down to recover their bodies.. i'm sorry i don't know why I'm telling you all this...just when I think that I am getttin over it, her it comes in huge tsunami waves, all the graphics I can't stop seeing in mymind. I think It is because I found a scrapbook that Katie and I made. after the storm. I thought it would help her move past it...of course she did, kids do but i still struggle with it (PTSD).

OK shake it off...I wonder if we ran Joyce off-lol. She seemed so nice and I'm so happy I have you, stillme jamiee and Karen to listen to my stories. My husvand has heard them all!!!! Isn't it funny how after so many years of marriage, your spouse starts telling a story to whomever and you know it word for word and you kinda roll your eyes and vice versa?

Anyway, I cannot wait to see new pain doc  for aninjection in my back...these fall fronts are giving all of us fits but for us in the dep south what a relief. Our Fall and Spring are outstanding-but no leaf colors, almost all southern pine and shrubby, marshy grasses.

You must be in the northwest Kimberly? My grandparents lived in Oregon but we never visited them-looks so beautiful there-kinda like england, rainy and sooo green and verdant, but with mountains and rivers. Is your house out in the boonies?

Well, I can't read really long posts so I"ll shut up now.

Good to hear from you again Keep posting and stay on aneven keel-y'all are so close now. Have you got flooring and lighting done??

Maggie,

That was so nice of you to say that Jamie, Embers and I keep you afloat. That is our goal here. You are very inspiring. Remember that. You survived Katrina. Don't ever forget that. It was hard, but you made it and so did your family. There must be some horrible memories. But celebrate today. You have a nice house and you are safe.

I hope that the pm doc gives you something for your pain that helps. Do let us know how that goes. I have got to get another cup of coffee in me. Getting my hair done this morning. I go once every three months. My hair is straight as an arrow, I like curls. So I treat myself to a perm. The lady is cheap too, and fast. And only a block away. Which helps. I don't know how many appointments I have cancelled because I didn't feel up to going. But being she is close by, I can walk if I have to. lol... And she is fast. It is hard for me to sit there for three hours, and she only takes an hour and a half. Cool...

So that is my day today. No cooking. I made a roast the other day and we still have left overs. Yay!!!

Embers, I hope you are right about the schnook winds. We could use some warm air, but I fear it is going to miss us. Or probably cause more precipitation, but if the weather is warm, it wont seem that bad. This rain is getting to me. Can only stay inside for so long and get cabin fever. I think this winter is going to be hard for me. One day at a time, right?

Thanks Karen-yes I still roller coaster on Katrina after 6 years...Iput it away in a box but sometimes it springs out like a jack-in-the-box, except like Stephen King type-lol.

So nice to get yr hair done, a little pampering. Mine too is very straight and baby fine. It was very long and I just clipped it up all day. So I finally had it cut shoulder length with long layers and little bangs-it is OK. Iwish I could curl or wave mine-it is so fine it doesn't even hold a gentle perm. Hard perm I look like shirley temple but not so cute-lol

Yum I love leftover roast. I made scetti the other nite and hubby made fried redfish last nite-I was nauseated all day and didn't want to eat but I did and it was sooo good.

Do you ever get nauseous? Both my hub and I struggle with it and he's not even on his meds. I think I'll post on that cause it is a pretty big issue with me-allday sometimes in waves.

Anyway, you are up early and I hope you enjoy yr salon time-you'll feel much better after... and I'll pray for rain to stop for you and jamiee, who is sleeping right now, we hope

It rained all day yesterday and is supposed to get quite cold with snow flurries tomorrow. I'm feeling a tad better right this minute after reading these posts. At my desk right now, no one else is in the office so it is peaceful. They will be in soon with a lot of talking. I will have to put on the happy mask.

I really am going to have to start cooking. Maybe that would keep my mind occupied, hmmm, on second thought then I would be depressed about having to clean up all of that mess. Oh well. Hope you all have a great day.

Had to change my therapist and psych appointments until next Sat. Taking my mother to the dermatologist. I wish I didn't have to wait until next week because I have taken a turn for the worse. Last Sat. at the office I was doing great, now this ughhh!!!!!

sorry you had to change appts. When we have a downer period, those appts become our life preserver...keep posting here I'm doing better today, but day is young-lol what an optimist!!
