Everything I've read about
Abilify says that it's used in conjunction with another medication. My doctor prescribed it by itself - is that weird? Has anyone had experience with Abilify? How long does it take to "kick in"? Just curious.

I've read that it can be used alone, although I know most commercials say it is used in conjunction with antidepressants. Many take 4-6+ weeks until you start to notice a response. I've never used this particular one, but if you don't think it's doing anything for you after 6-8 weeks, I'd ask about
trying something different or combining it with something else.

Abilify can actually start working in as little as two weeks. Even sooner if you are lucvky. It doesn't take a long time like antidepressants. I hope it works for you. I have been taking it for a couple of years now and it was like a wonder drug.
Best wishes,
Hugs, Karen

Thanks for correcting me on Abilify, Bayoub2, I gave data on Lamictal
(lamotrigine), not Abilify;Blue Moon878. Please excuse me.
I was prescribed Abilify but found it too harsh and could not take it.
As you see, others like it very much.

IG I know that only because my husband took it for years and since I am the Meds Goddess in our house, I memorized everyone's meds, dosesetc. But that was when I had a memory
I'm on 5mg which seems low compared, but I guess they sre still titrating.
Hope it helps you Blue Moon
Take care and let us know

I only started a few days ago. I'm on 5 mg. Not sure how high the titration goes, or what's effective, but I'm excited to be trying something new as nothing has worked before.

They usually start you out on five, There may be a 2.5 though. But I started on five and take ten now. Works good for me at ten. I know that they make 20's but don't know what the max dose is. I really hope it helps you.
Best wishes,
Hugs, Karen

starting a new med...
