How is everybody doing this holiday season?

Just wanted to check in and see how everybody is doing this holiday season.  For some it is harder than others and I want you to know it is okay to post about that if it is the case.  If somebody is having a hard time, we are here to help you though.  And if you are having a good holiday season, post that too. 

We all need to share at this time.  Whether it is good or bad.  I think a lot of all of you and I want you all to know that.

Hmmm...is it the holiday season? I hardly noticed! Still building the house and just trying to get settled. I guess I will feel more like Christmas if I put out some decorations.

I am used to having quiet Christmas's. Havn't spent any with my dysfunctional (though I love them) family in a decade or more. My mother always made Christmas special, as a kid, though. It was a noticeably happy time for us as her family was big on Christmas, so she carried that on with me and my siblings. So I get warm, happy feelings at Christmas...even if I am not around family...which I do miss...having others to celebrate with on a larger scale I mean. But I still enjoy myself.

I do the things my Mom taught me to enjoy: putting up the tree, crocheting decorations, listening to Christmas carols, putting up the nativity scene...and so I make my own joy.

And I have a few special long distance friends I exchange cards with, so I always look forward to that. :0)

I used to deck my room out in autumn and then Christmas decorations, but I haven't had the motivation to do so lately. It's tough enough getting parts of my room clean. I tend to come home from work, lie in bed, go on the computer, eat food, and lie in bed again. I have my little routine. Not happy with this routine, but I am trying to add in some less strenuous exercise to give me a little more energy. I'm making a goal to keep up with it through Christmas.

My mom works a 2nd shift job tomorrow so we'll have Thanksgiving lunch at my grandmothers. My mom made her own meal yesterday since she likes to have leftovers. That's the extent of my day.

Probably be on here a lot too, so if anyone's lonely we can chat together =)

Christmas is a bad time for a lot of people and this is very true for myself. All the christmas stuff, the music, the decorations, it just makes me depressed, many sad memories. I guess for many it is happy times and so many look forward to sharing christmas with their children. For me it just reinforces my poor self esteem, makes me sad. To all, I hope you do well over christmas, everyone deserves some hapiness in their lives.
