so guys you have come to see how limited i have become as a member,
i can't focus on posts and have great difficulty in reading larger content,
hence tacking on. let's face face it, i am useless here and totally inept.
bloody bi-polar!! i am so sorry, i was great in the past, not anymore.
the loving compassionate and caring me is still here, but i feel that dosen't
cut the mustard anymore. because of these focus issues i feel that recently
in my life it has caused me to miss many an opportunity. school flop,
consumer consultant role i was promised, nothing and others.
so what do i do? this is making upset and i am crying. sorry.
new meds? i don't know. see the shrink tomorrow.
your feedback is appreciated.

Jamie, don't ever feel inept. I know I haven't been here for long but your words of encouragement, no matter how brief, are appreciated. I think new meds might help. Remember to ask about Remeron (Mirtazapine) for sleep. I have focus issues as well. I was diagnosed with ADD because my doctor said (after a 4 hour evaluation of cognitive, behavioral and blah blah tests) that I have zero concentration.

I could've told him that :) I'm so sorry you're feeling this way. Please ask about a change in meds, even if an increase or whatnot here and there.

Jamie,

Please don't compare yourself to others, to us, you are just our Jamiee, we don't notice any difference. I too struggle with long posts, especially if people don't paragrath things, or if I have a shocking headache.

There are many people here that know your struggles, and these people marvel at your tensasity, we don't place expectations on each other, so you shouldn't either. We understand that people go through good and bad times, and that's ok, you will always be our Jamiee.

Jamie it's ok. Your contribution big or small provides is very important and much appreciated. Those little smiley faces have made me smile at times that I didn't think I had a smile left in me.

Don't worry about the focus thing. Read what you can. That's what I do. Its not that we don't care, its just that we mentally can't handle it at the moment.

Hi Jamie. I don't know what your take on a higher power is, but I would say, just put this out there: "God, if You are real, show me. And show me what Your Name is/who you are..." and then wait and see what happens.

Don't give up on finding answers, and do something nice for yourself today. :0)

seen my psychiatrist, i am a tad peeved. no sleepers or anything to calm me.
he listened to me read my 6 page letter. he was attentive. my hands were shaking
as was was my voice. we have the right path request form for the lithium and tegretol
levels. he is seeing me next fri. he said i could call his office if i need to see him
sooner, that was nice. wants me to bump up seroquel on bad nights, sort of defeats
the purpose of going of of it!!!!! may put me on lamotrogine. see how the lithium
tegretol levels are first. long day. love 2 all. jamie.

It is confusing to say the least about the seroquel. I hope that the meds help you. What is lamotrogine? I have never heard of it.

apparently it is in the anti-convulsant family that has both
anti-depression and mood stabilization qualities. so says my shrink.
he is a professor and bi-polar expert, so i beleive him explicitly.

Lamotrigine is generic Lamictal (mood stabilizer) My hub took it with effexor and it was very effective, not so many s/e either...couldnot handle all the lithium crap

Good luck my friend...sounds like a md cjange is in order..you have suffered a long time

Hey Jamiee

I am taking the lamotrogine along with lithium, wellbutrin and ativan. For the past few days I have been feeling better. I don't know which one is causing these better days but I am happy for it. Reason I don't is because every one of the medications was increased when I started the lamotrogine.

Hello jamie, I can across your post and found it interesting. I too found it nearly impossible to concentrate, I would read a page in a book but could not remember any content. I know i am different as i have major depression but with my medications i take mirtazapine 60mg(2 tablets) at night and effexor 150mg in the day. The efexor has helped me alot with concentration and in the last few weeks I have read about 4 books. I now know I should have been on these medications a long time ago as i have struggled with memory and concentration most of my life. I hope you get a result from your medications, I know I really need mine.

What a sweet spirit that you have Jamiee ! I hope that you feel better very soon. I am kinda new to this forum, but I have seen the support that you have given others and to me, that is wonderful. As hard as it may seem, keep your chin up... There are alot of people who care about you and that includes me!!

Jamiee...I also am fairly new to this forum, however you have always been so helpful and uplifting to the rest of us. I thank you for all the help and compassion you have shown me and others. I sure hope you feel better soon. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

to all. i will continue to try. i have hit the floor that many times i have learn't how to bounce!!! smile
thanks for your love and care, it truely inspires me. so thank you my hw family. i love you all. i pray something positive happens when i see the shrink next week. i know you are all thinking of me, thanks guys. and yes maggie is correct, lamotrogine is generic lamictal, spoke to my phamarcist about it, she gave me excellent reviews, and she knows me, my meds and meds in general. due to it not being on our cheap list and it not being prescribed for bi-polar here i will have to get it from the hospital. lets hope it is prescribed. cross ya fingers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
