Hello, Ocean 1, and welcome to the Depression Forum,
I'm sorry you're having a bad time with the moods and tears coming
so strongly.
So much of this depression that we suffer from is caused by chemical imbalances, Ocean 1. While the emotional qualities of Christmas are very tough for some people, we can improve our feeling tone by doing several things:
Stop drinking canned drinks which contain either caffeine or artificial sweeteners. Artificial sweeteners can react with some of us by causing a profusion of tears, low feeling tone, and it takes hours of drinking purified water to get these out of our systems. If you use caffeine in any form, please stop it right away. It causes depression to become much worse over a period of time; so does alcohol.
If you are able to do those things, you mood will improve over time,
guaranteed.
I urge you also to seek counselling to see if medication is called for
until you stabilize.
Keep posting to let us know how you are getting along in the next
few days with some changes. I rank dropping caffeine and artificial sweeteners right up there with the effectiveness of some of the best psychotropic medications.
Have a restful and calm, quiet Christmas.
Holiday cheers!
I.G.
