I posted earlier about
the two teenagers that got hit by a truck...I saw them lying in the street right after it happened. :(
Well I heard today that the girl had died from her injuries ;( Not only that but today is her birthday. The boy and girl were boyfriend and girlfriend and cared for each other very much. In a way, it's tragically sweet that they died together ;( It just breaks my heart so much...I had hoped and prayed as I sat with her in the street that she would live to see better days, but she died not long after they took her to the hospital.
They were trying to cross the street in a crosswalk that has no light, so now their family and others are protesting to get a light installed there so other people don't get hit trying to cross. I might go over there tomorrow and see what I can do :(
Sometimes i am me (HT)...

Elf,
I am so sorry to hear this. You know, we never know what the outcome is going to be. I know she heard you talking to her. Those might have been her last comforting words. I am so glad you were there for her. I am sorry for your loss. Know that we all care here.
Hugs, Karen

I'm very sorry Elf..I had really been hoping for good news
I guess it was her time to walk towards the Light...

The more voices that are added to the call for something to be done about
that intersection the more likely that something will be done.
Try to see if a petition drive has been started and if not, and you are up to it, start one yourself.

Made it out to the protest today...there were quite a few people and it will continue everyday until there is a light put up at the crosswalk. If things don't happen soon, I think we should start a petition-good idea!

I'm sorry to hear about
that. It will mean so much to their families to see so many people coming together to help them through and fight for this cause. It will also help you to overcome that traumatic memory. Life is never fair, they were too young. Stick together as a community and don't stop fighting for that cause.
