Hello I just signed up to this site today.  I was recently put on lithium for depression.  Tried every other anti depressant since 1993.  Some of which were taken off the market for one reason or another.  It's 300mg twice a day in addition to wellbutrin & deserly & xanax as needed.  What can I be expecting to happen if it works.

Welcome to the depression forum.  I am not real familiar with lithium as I have never taken it.  I found a site that might give you some insight to the medication.

Being it is usually used for bipolar and I am not bipolar, I don't know a lot about this medication.  But there are other things it is used for too.  We do have some members who do take it and hopefully they will respond to you.  I hope that the site helps you too.

welcome to the forum. lithium is nowadays the base-line treatment for bi-polar disorders. it is like the concrete that binds your meds together. lithium is a long term treatment as well. it can be very toxic to the system. hence regular bloods are required. for me i describe it as a creeper medication. hopefully you will feel better. my shrink tells me the effects are unique to the individual. i hope you feel better soon. give it some time.
