Prozac and Tremors

I was on Prozac for a little over a year. While taking it, I developed tremors that led to lip twitching. I didn't think anything of the tremors in my legs so didn't say anything but when it started happening to my lips I got worried. Anyhow, I've since quit the medication and the tremors and twitching have decreased but it's not completely gone. It's been about 2 months.

Has anyone else experienced this? My psychiatrist said that the tremors must be due to something else if they haven't gone completely away, should I see someone about them? I'm not taking any other meds right now except protonix for my stomach.

Hi Hmu07,

I have not experienced tremors or twitching from any of my medicatins, but I took neurontin once and it made me stutter so I stopped. I hope that yours stops too. I would think after two months that all should be out of your system and if it is still bothering you, I would ask the doctor what you should do next. As it could be neurological. But it sounds like the meds caused it if it has mostly gone away now. I hope it goes all the way away for you.

Welcome to the depression forum. Are you going to go back on any antidepressants? There are so many of them out there that sometimes it takes a few tries to find what works for you. How have you been feeling since you stopped medications? Let us know.
