Unreturned love

As I have said before, I am 17 and coming up to my A-levels but I cannot begin to focus because a I fell in love completely with a girl in my school who led me on and now she is seeing one of my friends as a boyfriend. It sounds typical and cheesey but honestly it is taking up my thoughts all the time and I've never ever felt so low before, I imagine them doing things and my stomach churns and yet these thoughts keep me up at night and away from school. 40mg of citalopram hasn't helped after about 6 weeks, just started counselling.

I spose you have heard before that love doesn't require to be returned. It is no strings attached.

Attachment is different. It is when that person has become a habit and we may have put them in charge of our self worth.

I don't think there is any easy way through any of our first heartbreaks - but that first heartbreak defines our life in many ways.

It was the first of the many battlescars we pick up through life.

The first cut is indeed the deepest. And most of us do survive the crushing pain you feel right now.

Get help if you are in crisis, keep talking through things here, and believe me when I say the agony WILL subside in time.
