Hi all. I ended back in a behavior hosptial do to self harm on the way to a therapy session.
What I learned was the medicine for my medical condition and the meds for my depression and chronic PTSD were decreasing my blood pressure and increasing my depression!
This was a fairly slow process over 4-6 weeks.
Coupled with the fact that from 15 years of child abuse I hide 99% of what I am feeling without even realizing it. I wrote in my journal about the; told my therapist and doctor. However, I also sugar coated it, with my skills are working blah, blah, blah.
This is what I learned:
Need to more STRAIGHT FORWARD about your fears and feelings, especially if you are going down. Either to your therapist or your doc. [ I now have a game plan, if I have a down day I draw a cloud on the calendar, more than 2 days in row, I call my doctor]
QUESTION your medication. The only silly or stupid question is the one not asked, this is so true if you are juggling meds between 2 or more docs. So many of us are. Talk to you pharmacist!
READ the phamlets given with meds, if it affects your blood pressure buy a BP cuff and monitor it daily to be sure you are remaining stable and not dropping. IF you have MDD, this can be devastating!!! I know, JUST BEEN there. Can not tell you the. You will have to trust I have telling the truth.
So in a nutshell, Be TRUTHFUL, PROACTIVE AND COMMUNICATE until it hurts. We are already suffering unspeakable pain, might as well have the pain work FOR us instead of AGAINST us!
God Bless! Everyone have a pleasant Memorial Day weekend. Be Safe!
