Daily "check in thread" for all!!!

Hi Everybody,

Starting a new "daily check in thread".  Hope you all join in.  It is fun to read about what others do during their day.  And a great way to get to know eachother.  I hope you all have a great day!!!

It is chilly here, been raining for days.  It is suppose to stop this morning and then get sunny.  Yay!!!  It has been raining forever it seems like.

I hope your exrays are clean. Keep us posted. I am worrying about you. But I know all will be well. Nerve pain is a pain in the you know what. I had it before in my shoulder. Took surgery to get rid of it. But I hope you don't have to have that either. Like I said, do keep us posted. I hope you have a wonderful day. Sun is trying to come out here. Yay!!!

Just a quick reply before heading to work.

The feral intruder is part of a colony.  (Hope I'm not repeating myself but...) I've given permission to a neighbor to feed feral cats on my eleven acre property.  He comes twice a day to feed, trap, neuter , vaccinate and find homes for these kitties.  There are probably seven or eight right now.

Anyway...one of them has decided to come 'our way' and is not a nice guy.  Don't want to complain to the neighbor...he's VERY sick (with lung cancer) and on O2. When he's hospitalized, his wife or son does the work.

Hey Mags, hope the arm pain is easily findable and "fixable". I have read about fibro & you and Karen definitely already deal with enough. I don't think you should apologize for telling us about it... that's why we are here! Lord knows I whine enough about the silliest things :)

Gma J.... eww. If I saw Carter pinned down & possible being "taken advantage of"... I'd have an absolute fit. And I mean temper tantrum. That cat needs to stay on his own property- well, at least his side. I hate to say I hope he finds someone else's cat, but uh... I hope he doesn't continue visiting you.

Karen, it's crazy that you have cooler weather. I read in the Farmer's Almanac for our region that June 1-2 would be the hottest days of the month and the 3-6 would be the coolest. It definitely felt nice this morning when I left home, around 78º. We haven't really had much rain.

To all... this weekend, I put a kiddie pool on my balcony. I think it's pretty ingenious. Carter was not a fan. Too bad I can't post a picture. But just imagine, a kiddie pool on a balcony in the middle of the busiest street in the historic district with a pale gal and her pup just chillin in the water :)

I pushed myself to go to mass yesterday. It is hard going alone, but I made sure to take notice of the other people alone there as well so that next Sunday when I struggle going alone, I will remember there were others there as well who most likely felt the same way at one point. I am my sister's confirmation sponsor, so I really want to be there for her in her faith and that it was pushes me. Besides, I always know how great I will feel after going... hence the great mood today.

Dear All

Good news/bad news

Good: Pat's brother who is 68 had all his social security and medicare taken from him 18 mionths ago. Florida said he had reneged on court orders for community servie on a drunk in publc 18 years ago and said it was a "FELONY". He has been living on $120/month from a peniosn, apt whre he lived waived his rent and friends and family helped with food etc.  It is not a felony and they had no right to take his $ away but it took us this long to settle this w/ federal gov't. He should get his first ss check in july-hallelujah!!

Also my hubby worked at Lowe's before cancer and they want him back for part time position. This would really help out monthly shortfall.

Bad news-my pap smear came back..it is ik but there was way too much blood in urine so senfing me to a specialist-scared. Had my x ray and will see it wed.

OK just wanted to spread a litle love and joy around-lol

Yea, we had some 80 and 90 degree days in March. So far the rest has been cold and rainy. Today is a nice day though. I planted beans and they are popping up. We need a little more warmth though...

I am sorry that the adderall didn't work for you. It does help me though, I am glad for that. What are you going to try next? I have a girlfriend with fibromyalgia and adderall didn't help her either. She finally went off of it, but she tried provigil. It didn't work for her either. There is also vyvanse. Let me know what you try next.

Hi Jade,

Know that this is a slow process. Though you can't observe changes, I am sure that they are going on. Take it one day at a time. Maybe journal some. Write down the feelings that you get when certain things cross your mind. PTSD is stange. It has it's own way of working out. And you are at it's mercy most of the time. But it will work out and you are going to feel better in time. Just don't try to rush it. I found writing about it helped me sort things out. Maybe start a journal if you don't already have one. Keep posting here to because it helps.

Hi all!

I agree that PTSD is very different to deal with BUT with the right help, it gets MUCH better. I have been in counseling now since september with PTSD and there are still triggers, but there are less than before.

Back on my kick of trying to lose weight... hopefully I will stick to it this time after a month passes. Tonight is the season premiere of one of my favorite shows :) Yay.

Yesterday, I got $5 off a bag of Carter's food which is RARE. He eats the Science Diet & there are never coupons for it, so I got lucky! I try to share the little things with you guys :)

Just 'checking-in' today since I'm not feeling too good. My depression seems to be coming back, but I'm trying not too break down.

bayoub2, I hope your x-rays come back okay.

LW, I hope you're hanging in there. Maybe you can try doing something that you enjoy or makes you happy and see if it help. I know it's hard but hang in there. Hope you feel better soon.

Court, I'm so glad your ptsd counselling is working. I am working through a workbook and journal each day and I like my new counsellor who I see once a fortnight. He accepts the complexity of my condition and doesn't attempt to cut off or deny important parts in an effort to simplify the reality of my conditions and situation. I'm taking the courage to heal, and I hope it pays off :)

They don't boobie mash where I live until 50. They give us scans instead because the density of breast tissue makes mammograms very unreliable. I loved telling my elderly friends I had to have a scan because my breast are too firm :P I have persistant UTI's as well Mags - and they really impact on my mental health... my pdoc gets very irritated with my urinary tract. I've been on the urology waiting list for years.

UA, I'm so sad to hear that the depression is having its way with you too. Thanks for your well wishes and my throughts are with you too.

Well done JB1 on exercising to combat numbness - perfect antidote!

Karen, I've taken on your soothing reassurance. One day at a time, I'll take another step to managing my conditions so I can have more of my basic needs met.
