Hey Magpie...

After your post about cost of electricity...I did some 'googling' about our neck of the woods.  Wow, what a surprise.

Apparently, Pennsylvania is the first state that is allowing folks to select our electric generation supplier.  I've been wondering why we received so many unsolicited calls from companies. 

Peco (our current supplier) is phasing out peak usage discounts on January 1st. Other suppliers are offering lower rates now and are willing to negotiate even further. 

I've got a LOT more research to do on this topic...but SO glad you brought it to my attention.

Wow, Joyce, you have like an electric "pool" to choose from?? Awesome! Ours is a co-op, so supposedly we are members but they will turn you off ina New York Second.

They are trying to create a "wind insurance pool" here after Katrina. Insurance cos did not even want to OFFER wind insurance to Mississippi after the storm. But now you can get covered, but runs 3k to 5k a year, hard on disability. This year we are praying alot-LOL.

Strong storm shortly...70 MPH and 1" hail possible.

Keep fingers and toes Xd that we don't lose power.  If I'm not around to bug you in the mornng, you'll know why

Hey Y'all

Lots of rain and thunderboomers here-I love a good t-storm as long as I don't have to go out (or lose power).

Finally got my email back!!! Lots of deleting and spam after a week!

Our icemaker on fridge stopped working (little water line froze up) so we emptied fridge and thawed and tore it down and scrubbed it-whew!! Took 2 of us awhile but icemaker is working again. I am sooo spoiled-remember filling all those cube trays???

Couple of days ago our plumbing stopped draining-that was an allday affair for Pat and a friend...and they gor covered in all the stuff behind the grease clog-soaked and stinky-lol. That is fine now too. I mean the house is only 4 years old but there is always something to fix!!! Now I remember why renting was so nice-lol.

KK starts school in 2 and 1/2 weeks!! Her boyfriend is still staying in our guest bedroom. His mama is #1 on list for subsidized housing so we hope that will be within a month. We have a small camper trailer (about 25 feet) on our lot and his mama had nowhere to go so she is staying over there too. My granddaughter was here for 2 weeks so we have had a house full and am glad that school starts soon. Not used to so much company, getting very set on our ways I guess.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well. Karen, will email tonioght

I am counting on that email. It will be so nice to hear from you again. Wow she is going back to school already. I wish they did here. Not until September. After Labor Day I think.

Sounds lilke you have had your share of stuff to do. When it rains, it pours I guess. Murphey's law I think it is called.

Good Friday morning, all... Cooler.... with a quiet rain, very nice for a change. One more day on 'my own'.  Expect John will be back tomorrow.  I have twelve cigarettes left... Magnetic... you've had more than your share of stuff to fix.  Hope that's all for awhile.  An ice maker... never had one, so guess I don't know what I'm missing. Jam... glad to see the smiling icons, hope that means you're ok today. It's been a really busy these past couple of days. I can't wait for the weekend. I've got my appointment with my therapist after more than three (3) months. Really nervous for some reason.

Hi UA.... I didn't know the tip about the bananas either.  Hope you can relax about your therapist visit.

Yes,  it's a week today that John left for Michigan, and I do look forward to his safe return.  Worry about him driving the long distance alone.

I sure have been spending a lot of time on the computer...

Good morning, all. My world is kinda turned around this morning.  John got back from his Michigan reunion visit around midnight...and we were both up half the night. Is it time for bed now? KK sees her counselor tues, mine is still 3 weeks away!!! I will talk her ear off by then-lol.

It is a good day here today. Not too hot, breezy. Joyce, I too am glad that hubby made it home safe. Sometimes those times together (at strange hours) are the most prescious.
