I have been using journaling as a tool to get my emotions out. However, this did nothing
to control or manage them.
reading about "controlling" them did nothing for me, I was still spinning out of control and holding
ice cubes to calm down.
Then I found a book "Writing for Emotional Balance" It is a guided journal and I just finished it. It has 8
chapters and I completed it with the guidance of my therapist. It is a wonderful tool. I learned so much
about MY emotions and how they work. Everyone is different. What works for you does not work for me. The skills learned are wonderful and it makes a good reference book now.
I got my copy at half.com. I highly recommend this if journaling is your thing. If you can't control your emotions
definately do it along with your therapist, it can be triggering.
One more step to healing.
